It offers a world to explore with people to interact with. A level of immersion you can't experience in most games.

I've played since EverQuest 1 in 1999, so the initial MMO buzz back in the day was more than enough to get me hooked.
7) Do/Did you consider yourself an addicted player?
If the game is interesting and worth my time, it is highly addicting so, yes I would consider this a yes.
8) In your opinion, how do you know when you’re addicted?
When I play too much, but it's usually worth the time spent.

I'm an introvert by nature, so if I wasn't playing an online game or plain ol' game of sort, I'd be reading or watching movies.

Doesn't bother me the slightest. They have their hobbies and I have mine, they're missing out.

Positive, I wouldn't trade my experiences I've had over the years for much of anything.

The persistant and social aspects. I've been in various games ever since pre-split UO. I'm also one of the few MMO players left that enjoys and plays for the lore, so being a part of an unfolding story would fit in here I guess.

Not quite sure what this question is getting at. What is "MMORPG culture"?

No

When real life obligations and social interaction is detrementally effected due to your obsession. I'm not sure why this needs to be defined, as "addiction" has a definition. It either fits or it doesn't *shrug*.

Not particularly.

Of course. If the public thinks MMORPGs are for "shut in, no life addicts" then what do you think most people are going to think of you when you say "Oh yeah and I play *this game* every once and a while". Among several other factors. If you're asking if public perception has an impact on how/what I play, no, screw the public.

This question assumes a Yes to #7 so I would assume I shouldn't answer?
