Is this game still a "sizzling steak"?

What is the status of this game now? How is it on PVE? How is it on player freedom? (i.e., not feeling artificially confined by invisible walls)

I see a fair bit of buzz around the game now, the next patch and this year will decide its fate.
This game is definately still a sizziling steak, and do you want to know the best part? There are 1000 steaks just like it because whenever two or more customers sit down the resteraunt is instanced! YAY!
Seriously, this game has masses of PVE content but it is more like a CORPG than an MMORPG. Think of Guildwars with the focus on single player PVE rather than PVP.

this argument is so old and wrong...it's just sad to see people still using it.
1. Yah...it has "channels" where you can switch between different sort of instanced of the same zone. However, not once have I felt any different in one of these channels than I did in WoW. The major cities are all just one channel I believe. You can still fit a lot of people in one channel.
2. It's not like Guild Wars at all and your just spewing out lies.
3. LOL single player? maybe questing to the level cap is, but dungeons, mini-games, keep sieges...yah try doing THEM by yourself. And how about The Commons District coming in with the next patch? Are you gonna be able to take on and entire faction by yourself? Doubt it.

if it is a steak it is a chain steak house steak ( Outback, Ruths Chris, Longhorn) . Edible but certainly not gourmet.

I t was funny when Gaute compared WoW to a burger and AoC to a steak. Now we of course know that it was WoW that is the steak and AoC is dog food
The funniest part is that Gaute is probably working at McDonald's flipping burgers as we speak
If you are looking for a answer to your question I suggest firstly that you try a different forum, general questions about aoc has a tendency to bring out the still-bitter-from-a-buggy-launch-one-year-ago activists.
Other tha that, try to specify your questions more if possible; ie How many zones/instnces are there for 40-60-ish etc.
Asking how a game feels will more often than not give you extreme interpretations by those who are good at screaming loud, and ofc a very subjective answer. This in turn will turn into the classic flaming that usually wont help much, unless that is the aim ofc.

Actually, I would consider WoW to be a quarter pounder with cheese and AOC to be a whopper with cheese. Same artery clogging mounds of calories, different names. Theres no much difference between the two.
And if WOW were a steak, I would consider it to be brown chuck and AOC to be the brown chuck after its been chewed, digested, then "passed".
My prediction, AOC is dead within the next 5 months. Bring on the next clone.....

You might be right. I'm so tired of these WoW clones. We need an evolution in MMO's.
I will answer the Poster's question this way, back in the late 70's or early 80's there was a commerical where a little old lady would say " Where's the Beef " what you see from Funcom in my opion is an empty styrofome box with a slice of pickle in it.
