Questions about the game.

I have been playing Eve Online for the past few years and I have been looking for something diff to get into and this game has caught my eye. But, I havent really followed the development and dont know much about it. Before I take the time to download it, could someone please give me an overview. Does pvp in this game have any meaning? Are there areas which player "armies" or "guilds" can conquer and control the resources within,etc.. Is there any risk in pvp such as losing your gear,etc.. Or, is this another WoW type of game?? I'm into tactics and strategy. I dig how complex the Eve Universe is and the "sandbox" style of gaming. How does this game differ? Where is it similiar?

Thanks

Yes. There are new areas coming in, like the Arena, and player lootable items, which should be fun.

Not yet, but I've heard it's on the drawing board. Shard vs Shard would be awesome...

Player lootable items are added this upcoming patch
Or, is this another WoW type of game??
No. The combat is much harder and requires a lot of skill to accomplish well.

While this game is not sandbox, it is very large and wide, and there are plenty of places to explore. Even the first area, Hawksmouth, is huge, and that's one of the smaller areas! The combat system and skill deck need to be mastered, the story behind the game is unique and draws you in (albeit in the late teens...), the music is awesome. The graphics are a little dollish, but they fit with the environment.

Also, there are hoppies! Which are awesome, and make sounds when they die..... >.>
