wow....

Is anyone else completely blown away by this game? I watched probably 30 videos on youtube about this game and they made the game look too slow. Man was I wrongto judge, I downloaded the game justin time for the 2 week trial and I plan on subbing in exactly 2 weeks. This game gets a 10 all around in my books. This will be no WoW killer because of poor marketing but it definietly deserves a moment of everyones time. From the beutiful graphics, to its revolutionary gameplay in the MMO world. This game is worth the monthly fee and I suggest everyone try it.

I logged on last night and there was a GM in the starting zone actually playing and PvP'ing with the players. Every night GM's play with the players..I don't know if this is just anew release thing but damn I like it. In all the mmo's I have tried (CoX, WoW,EVE, GW,SWG,AoC,EQ,EQ2,TR-which sucked huge). I have never seen a chill GM interact with players on a casual level.I'm not making spam here I'm just very very happy and at the same time shockedwith this game. Acclaim is a small company that makes mianly F2P game, and they throw somehting like this peice of fine art to the public. Just wow..THANK YOU ACCLAIM!

You should look out for the next webinar, they done 3 or 4 so far and the whole team kicks back and chats and ask what you like, don't etc..

We told them that freeplay should be increased to lvl10-12 as it didn't give you enough time to get a proper feel, and they listened... :)

Glad you like it. I've been playing for more than a month now and I can't pull myself away from it. It really is refreshing. The game isn't breaking any new ground but it is different in so many ways.

Yeah it is pretty great themepark game. I recommend everyone to try 2 week free premium subsciption on US side.
I already subscribed to EU servers and I will continue to play it till fallen earth gets released (I'm not saying FE will be a greater game but I just don't like themepark MMOs).

Its my new favorite. But i have a quesiton if anyone can answer. I'm worrid I accidentally downloaded the EU servers. Can anyone tell me the name of the EU servers? I downloaded the game and there was only two servers, Delinquriol (I am just thinking off the top of me head here) and Der something? Are these the EU servers? If so, how do I get the US ones?

If you only see two servers then you are on the US servers hosted by Akklaim.

I have seen  SiL Reps and Acclaim reps (Warda, Enigma, Phew) plenty in game. Enigma is particulary helpful and effective. So, no, it's not just a release thing. These people play the game and care about the game.

My mail got jammed, so I posted it on the boards and Enigma had, within hours, got me the info made a new thread dealing with the problem and chased down the solution. By the next morning the jamming problem was fixed.

    Amazing CS imo.

    Welcome to Spellborn :)

That's cool that you like it. I thought it was a very nice game. I don't play it though. The only stopping me from continuing was the rotating skill deck. I just couldn't get used to that. I guess I've become "locked" into the standard skill bars. I just couldn't grasp the best way to set-up the deck. But yeah, the game needs to be checked out by anyone at all interested in MMO's.

Thats a shame, because once you make the leap to learning a new (imo better) system, those standard skill bars seem rather crude and non-dynamic.

I'm not sure that I will be able to play a game like that again myself... It would feel like 'stepping back'... Well, maybe EQ if they ever release a classic server (not gonna happen) because that game was something very special from 99-02.

If it wasnt for you though, thats cool, it won't be for everybody. Nothing unique is. GL in your next game :)

I was playing a spellcaster, going void seer route. To be honest though even if someone helped me learn how to strategically set up my deck, I still didn't care for the feel of that rotating deck. So even learning the best way to do it wont make enjoy more. Another thing I forgot to mention was that since I'm getting old, my reflexes suck, so having to be properly aimed to get successful hits is harder for me. I like my stand-in-one-spot and fight mmo's. The aiming stuff reminds me of FPS games, and I admittedly suck at those, therefore, I don't like them.

I am not knocking this game just so everyone knows. Actually I wish I was better at this style of game because it is a very nicely done game. So I still suggest you try it.

Yeah, this is my concern and why I'm shying away from the game so far.  I'm just not good with this sort of combat, (not so good with most forms of combat actually) so I suspect I might not enjoy this game as much.

If you have the time, I still suggest you try it. The aiming doesn't have to be as accurate as a FPS game, but I found myself too many times not paying attention to where I was aiming, because of past mmo experiences that didn't even require you in some cases to even be facing the enemy, and causing me a lot of misses of my target. Give it a try, I would love to hear your opinion of it also.

I'd like to add that I too was completely blown away. I haven't been so rattled by my enjoyment of a new video game since... Morrowind.

  • ardohainardohain Member Posts: 103

i'll chime in with another blown away here. been trying out different classes for a few weeks, having a hard time deciding. last night i believe i've started my main :D

there's a LOT of new people in game in past couple days (PvP), so...i expect a nice population increase which can only be good.

of particular excitement for me: the hawtie i'm dating loves FPSs but wouldn't consider trying WoW. since she's seen the combat in this game she's become interested to try her first mmo. i'm hoping to help her roll her first toon tonight...wish me luck boys!!

I understand where your coming from, its my dream to get my girlfriend into MMO's ahah. But This is the first forum I have seen in a while that people aren't trashing the game and if they don't like it...they say it respectfully, thanks for being mature guys.

I am also glad to see so many people enjoying the game! Hope to see you all in game. I'm on the PvE server, names Christophiza. Give me an add, ill be subbing today seeing as im hooked already.

To be honest, I thought the game was trash and amateurly developed. Even playing it with full graphics it felt like Anarchy Online had better graphics, not to mention don't anyone see any resemblance of the two? I do.. Playing it also felt like a niched-teen-fps-elitist-fest which we all know and love. So, be glad that the portion of the Darkfall community will be in your game. Horray!

ahh, so your other post WAS just sarcastic worthless white noise.

I guess with a growing awareness of this gem we will be seeing more and more hate trolls find their way here as their pet game is threatened.

it's a real shame, these boards have been generally great up to now.

For those of you who are shying away because of the fps style aim to attacks, i gotta say, your right.....untill you adapt and start improving.

Its pretty difficult to have to deal with a tweaker rogue moving all over the place, but think about the scenario.  The rouge is nimble and quick, it lowers your ability to hit them, like a type of evade.  Some classes have aoe's that can negate quick moving targets unpridicatble movements.

Over time, depending on your learning curve, youll start to master it.

Im far from pro with regards to the combat but there are a lot of techniques that need to be masterd.  After a while the akward rotating skill deck becomes a great way to set up "combos" if you will, and i gotta tell you i prefer the skill deck much more than the standard cooldowns.  Once you figure out holding both mouse buttons down for an auto attack, while you skillfully dance around your rotating skill deck, or do nothing and go though your pve attack rotation.

Its a nice change of pace

I must add, ive never seen a game shut down gold farmers by design.  THey popped up early on then gave up quick since this isnt a equipment based game, your equipped to look how you want basicaly, and then add upgrades to add value to the equipment.

Its nice to take the focus off the uber loot and focus on gameplay.
