Loved Ultima Online back in the day...is it still worth it?
I quit playing UO back in '06, looking to get back into it. Does anyone still play? If the shards are deserted I'm not going to waste my time. And if that is the case, can anyone recommend a new game? I've given WoW a shot, didn't really get into it, kinda hated the cartooney feel of it, and the cookie cutter classes. What I really loved about UO was the classless skill system; that, and the player crafting system, the way it used to be, anyway. Are there any games around now with those two features? Thanks all.

upcoming Mortal Online. the developers are highly influenced by old Ultima Online.
LinkRealms is good for a free 2 play. Darkfall online is basically old school ultima with 3d graphics.........but its hard to get an account. I have one and the game is pretty good once you get used to it. I am waiting on Mortal Online. I went back to ultima and played for like a week.........its really lost its sparkle ever since they added trammel......for the carebears.

It's better to lurk in forums and be thought a fool...than to endlessly "Quote" and remove all doubts.
They added trammel like 8 years ago... It's nothing new. I personally loved the game to death, the ability to do anything you could think of (within reason). Felucia was still there for the more skilled and those seeking excitement from PvP. I'm personally glad they had both worlds simply because it allowed for twice as much room for housing

Its all a matter of what you like. I like a sandbox game. UO was sandbox. Ya you can go to Fellucia but its dead. It made the stealing skill unuseable. Even the item insurance killed this game. I and many others wait for the day they open a classic server.
I would go back in a heartbeat if they did that. I am not here to argue the fact that its good or bad. Its just not for me anymore. Until Mortal Online I will stick with Darkfall online.
