So I finally broke down and did what I swore I wouldn't, I bought a new graphics card.
I'm sorta a horrible hardware noob TBH I was wondering what other MMORPGers think of Nvidia at this time?
I saw that a few companies are going and using Radeon more often now?
I just picked up a 9400 GT Nvidia card... Pretty old at this point I know, just wondering if you think I should have spent the extra 40 bucks and got the 9800?
I mean I could always take it back within 30 days and use the credit to buy the better one... Whats your opinion?

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with Nvidia, even though I use ATI.
Anyways, If I was you and I could afford the $40.00 dollars I would bring the 9400 back and get the 9800.
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
i rather have no graphic card than getting 9400gt. 9400gt is seriously nothing.
you can get 9800 series by just adding 40 dollars? you gotta be kidding!
these days more people go with ATi cause its cheap in price and decent in performance. Nvidia is still the top if money not an object. GTX 295.
9400gt is really nothing. you rather grab a 5 year old 6800 ultra for under 50 dollar from your friend or something.
uhhhh yeah for one i would never swear to not upgrade my computer lol...thats just pointless and yeah the 9400 is useless....when i built mine i looked at 9800 and the 8800 and noticed 8800 actually runs way better so i picked that up but i just ordered the 275 so im happy my friend just got the 275 as well and it is worth every penny so in conclusion take your 9400 back and get the 9800 if you can only spend 180$ on a card otherwise spend a bit more and go for a 200 series card.
Who is down for a dungeon run?
^^ Or an NM hunt? ^^
Buy the ATi Radeon HD 4870 because it's good value for your money and you need it's performance for the new games.
ATi recently released the HD 4890 which basically is a overclocked HD 4870 for a much higher price.
Personally I don't think that the HD 4890 is worth it's price as it is but maybe in a month or two when the price have dropped a little bit.
So my suggestion to you is this, go for the HD 4870 because it's very good value for the money.

9400 is just too old... it wont even play the nex gen games coming out.....if you want to know that to buy. post what you have now for PC spec's , your buget, and what games you play now, and what game you looking forward to playing. Then i will send you some links.
"Beauty is only is only skin deep..." said the AMD/ATI fan. "Blah..Thats just what ugly people say..." said the Intel/Nvidia fan. You want price / performance, use the dollar menu..
Video cards quickly drop off in performance per dollar when you drop below ~$85 or go over $300. The 9600GT should really be the minimum you consider, and is a good investment over a 9400GT. If you really saw a 9800GT for only 40 bucks more than the 9400GT that's a great deal though but I have a feeling it was a 9600GT.
Dont beleave the HYPE that ATI=Value
If you can run SLI. and run a 22' display or smaller.
I run 2-9800 GTX's in SLI (about $210.00 for both) and it out performs a single gtx 285...This should show some light on what your looking for.
