Yes, I would. I usually like console games more than PC. Most of my PC games are MMOs. They would have to change the combat to fit the console, though.
The game that got me hooked on the genre was console only. EQOA. So, yes. Ahh, that game was so good....if you were in queynos and wanted to go to freeport you had to actually KNOW the way there (not the best example as it was one straight road)...but there was no map. My coffee table had a bunch of hand drawn maps on it. Good times...good times..
No I would not play a console MMO. Other than collecting dust the only games I ever play on consoles are sports or I might knock the dust off of Saint's Row
If a game get my interests it wouldn't really Mather but I would need to be abel to use Mouse and Keyboard and not be totally gimp Controller doest work for me in rpg just no
I would play an RPG on a console if I had a console. I have a working NES - does Super Mario Brothers count as an RPG?
To me, part of an MMORPG is interacting with other players. On a PC, that usually means text-based chat (my machine doesn't like teamspeak for some reason). For an MMORPG to work on a console, teamspeak would need to be integrated. Unless they want to limit everyone to canned questions/answers, that is.
------------- The less you expect, the more you'll be surprised. Hopefully, pleasantly so.
The closest thing I've played to a mmo on a console was the original Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast. Although the game would be better compared to something like Diablo 2 since the multiplay options were limited to a small group size. Never the less, I had a ton of fun playing PSO for hours on end with random folks.
Regardless if the mmorpg is on the PC or a console, if the game is good enough I'll give it a whirl.

The consoles that can support MMORPGs are all capable of voice chatting. I'm sure if they set one of these up, seeing as how few people would play using a keyboard, they'd most definitely integrate a voice chatting system.
As for my feelings on the issue - if the game is worth playing, I'll play it. I have an Xbox 360 and a PS3, both of which I hardly ever use. It'd be nice to have a reason to use them a little more often, lol. If they implement the option to use a mouse and keyboard, then there's no reason at all not to try it out.
No. I'm ignoring the "favorite" part of the question, though, and replacing it with "a future MMO in development that looks interesting to you" as using favorite implies that you have played it to judge it so. Having given away my Wii to my nephew this past christmas, I don't own any of the major consoles (360, ps3, wii) and have no interest in changing that state. Console gaming died for me once I moved away from my old Super Nintendo. The only console game that I'm remotely interested in is Madden, and I can play that at my buddy's house. Not worth shelling out hundreds of dollars to buy/play one game a year.
"Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..."
Yes I am playing one now. AOC I like it alot but you can tell this thing is desinged to eventually run on a 360. I believe this is why the way the game has so many instances. The game is very fun though and im having a blast this isn't a knock I just believe this is a game that is designed to eventually run on the 360.
I just don't see how it could work without the keyboard and mouse. I suppose you'd have to buy the keyboard accessory to make it work. I'm sure it could be done, but I don't see it happening.
No. The only console in my house is a Wii and I never play it. I don't like the control scheme of a console, and I don't like the limited usability of a console. It would have to have a keyboard and mouse for me to play it, but at that point what would be the point of having it on a console and not a PC?
Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike Loved: Star Wars Galaxies Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.
i dont realy care about console or pc. if it is a good game then im gonna play it
Indeed.
Even though I do not own a console right now and nothing on the horizon that makes me want to buy one, but IF eventualy a good/great MMORPG would come out on console I might think about getting one, for now, like I said it has no real purpose for me having a console. But hey who knows what the future holds.

Ah... You should have tried to do that same journey in EQ1. The road wasn't so straight and if you got caught in Kithicor Forest after dark... Yes, those were good times indeed. I had a 3 ring binder that was about 2 1/2 inches thick with maps and notes for EQ1.
I would definitely play a MMO on a console if it was any good. With the amount of crap MMO's we have these days it would have to be something pretty special though. I play games about equal amounts on my PC and my Xbox already so it wouldn't be that much of a leap for me. I would have to get over my hatred of voice chat in MMOs though... LOL... or get a keyboard for my Xbox.
I don't understand people's beef with controllers. As long as the game is not designed to work like current MMOs, it should be fine. You don't HAVE to point a cursor at something to target it. The only problem I would imagine is communication, but as far as I know, you can connect a keyboard to both consoles. 360 even has a controller with a mini keyboard on it.
Hopefully we will see some good ones pop up one of these days. Plus it will be nice when we can chill on the couch instead of at a desk, lol.

Controllers just aren't the same to any real gamer. These console kiddies may have an alright time....but not those of us who want more control over what we do ingame...
"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to. Relax....."
Not a chance in hell for oh so many reasons. (Depth, expandability, scope, toss it all out the window and add all the limitations of a system that cannot be modified and the bonus of likely having to pay an additional fee in addition to your MMO fee to play ala MMOs on Xbox Live currently.)
Only with mouse and keyboard. Controllers are for games like "Pong" or "Putt Putt joins the parade". Or for hyperactive kids who in their mania can't manage to coordinate two input devices at the same time.
From a technical point of view, another problem i see with consoles and huge game-environments are loading screens every 50meters you move.

If it was our favorite, we would already be playing it so everyone would have to answer YES! I know what you mean though, lol.
I just can't get into console RPGs like computer RPGs, not sure why, I just can't. They just don't seem to have the depth. Not to me anyway.

If they actualy made a innovative mmo only for console I'd go for it. However if it's a old 'been there done that' mmo then not.
A good example was Everquest Online Adventures for the PS2. My last mmo I played on a console.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it...
No I would not play a console MMO. Other than collecting dust the only games I ever play on consoles are sports or I might knock the dust off of Saint's Row
I couldn't agree more. I don't care if it's console or PC. I'm all about a good game and growth.
Boarderlands looks interesting... though it is supposedly for both PC and console. In which case I would be more inclined to play the PC version.

i've done it before , and i dont see why i could not do it again.
i was on the beta for eqoa, and bought the game and played it again
and that was only for the ps2
so yeah i would , but this time around no mo monthly fees.

Like a lot of adults, I don't have any consoles ( just a computer ) so I couldn't/ wouldn't be a customer there.
