While not so much a class as it was a skill-set, I had a ridiculous amount of fun with my Creature Handler in SWG. I cycled through a variety of other skills from time time to time to complement the beast mastery (teras kasi, pistoleer, ranger, all kinds of things), but I always kept the Master Creature Handler part. Tracking down specific babies, taming them, teaching them tricks, training the larger creatures to be mounts, using them in combat, the whole things was just an absolute blast.
It would probably have to be my Martial Artist loadout in MxO. Interlock is still one of the best things I've ever seen in an MMO, and watching the martial arts never gets old.
this is one of thoese questions that seems easy to answer but in reallity hard to say.
ill go by genra and arch type to make it fair cause i love them all the same by mmo to mmo.
in eq2 , for casters my dark elf necromancer ,, i love it i love it i love it
for tanks my high elf shadow knight , thats right i said it, its a " HIGH ELF SHADOWKNIGHT" i love that toon.
in daoc , for casters, my beloved bonedancer , oh how i loved going around with that guy killing anything and everything before they got nerfed.
for melee dps , my celt vampiir . to see people run away from me was such a treat and when it came to duels , i never lost
vamps rule !!!!!
for tanks, my bladmaster ,
in swg, my swordmaster/ranger /sniper / rebel , oh how i loved killing imps on him before sony F'ed up their game
in eq , my human magician and dark elf necromancer
in guild wars my derv and my necromancer
in eqoa , my dark elf necromancer
in warhammer ....................................................... it would of been the blackguard is they didnt screw the class up !!!!!!
aoc , im on the trial , my stygian necromancer and my topless demonologist, oh how i love seeing her bounce
in city of villians , my mastermind necromancer and my brute dark dark crow look alikes
but if i had to say outa all of thoese toons , which one i love the most ..
it would be my dark elf necromancer . even though they all are about even in what i want except the blackguard.
my dark elf necro is still my favorite after all these years. the feel , the look, the movement, the controlls, the spells, just scream kick arse !!!!!
It has to be EQ2 Assassin for the following reasons
First the rediculous DPS, both burst and sustained.
Second the Aggro Stability I would give a group. Transferring 40% of my hate to the MT....If I was alive, it was impossible for a healer to pull aggro off of the MT without a scripted hate reset.
I also liked being able to dual my monk friend and 1shot him with my Master 1 Decapitate if I critted.
Hmm, my Dirge from EQ2. It is a gothic Bard kinda. Gives musical buffs, have attacks that are screams and others with song. Have depressing RPG effects too I also like the classic ranger (with or without a pet), the Necromancer from Guildwars (that can do a lot of fun with dead bodys: if an enemy dies it makes things a lot easier for him). I also kinda like the witchunter from war but it was a lot funnier in the pen and paper rpg.
Dirge is a good class for EQ2 but it's nothing to the Uber song twisting bard of EQ1 or the brilliant bard of Vanguard.
The Vanguard Bard actually plays musical instruments which have mods.. drums for running supersonic speed and many more for mana and health.
Red Mage from ffxi. The greatest class I've ever played in any game period. Always needed in large groups but where it really shined for me was in small ones. Being able to enfeeble, buff, refresh mp, bind, sleep, nuke, cure, and melee was infinitely useful. With a 2 hour ability that let you fire off your spells instantly with no cool downs, and another ability that let you convert your current hp into mp, the class was simply amazing. When the shit hit the fan, a group was better off having my red mage along with them than not. ~.o
Both the Bard and the Bloodmage from Vanguard were excellent.
The mage-assassin and the doomsayer from Shadowbane were also great fun. I would have to vote for something (really anything) from Shadowbane as, even though the game had serious "issues", it had the most ability to customize builds within classes - the resultant variety was awesome.
My tamer and bard from UO. Not really a set class but most tamers and bards had basically the same core skills, was nice that I could put my own personal spin on how I wanted it to be.
Anything from WoW is amazing specially Priest and Druid cause they are the most diverse and can do everything.
Jedi in SWG Pre CU and while the grinding was boring and they ruiend the game, they were hard to get at first and made you feel like no other class has ever made you feel while playing and thats Unique and Special, until they dumbed the game down and everyone had one. Thats how I wish DK made you feel in WoW and while it's funt o play cause Blizzard nail the combat perfectly, I expected a Hero class to make me feel like a Hero.
Games with the worst classes where I never liked any of them are ones like DAOC, WAR and EQ2 cause theres too many of them and they all feel wastered down and using EQ2 as an example most the classes feel like 2 sides of the same coin...... whats the point? WoW's classes feel unique and each can play 3 fun and different roles rather than one boring one.
First is a bard from early UO, where you had to do the 'bard dance' to keep things provoked. In all the games I've played, the 'bard dance' is the most skilled thing I've ever done in a MMORPG. Can't remember their name (orphidians -snake people?), but you could go into their temple and it was just crazy fun (and challenging).
My most powerful character of all time was a bard/tamer from UO. I basically had a dragon and a nightmare fighting for me, and at the same time I could 'peacemake' the monster and make him not fight back. How OP is that?
Minstrel , Dark Age. Stealth, Speed, Mez bomb. It took a bit of skill to play this char in a group , post 2004/TOA. I had a heck of a time getting to 50 but it was sooooo rewarding when i did grind my way there. Best rvr ever, hands down (2002-2003ish).
I had to reply because this is just a great thread even though it is hard to just pick one... and in all honesty I dont think I can do it.
So here is my top classes.
EQ1 I played from beta and on and off out to 6 or 7 years. and well I LOVED my paladin there. The stuns we got, lull pulling which was an art form and took skill to be really good at it.
Vanguard however probably had the best implementation of a paladin. It was an overall fun class to play and hard to beat. So that would be right up there with the EQ1 Paly. It was the first game to really satisfy me after leaving EQ1.
However the Herald of Xotle was probably one of the most interesting classes I have ever played. and I really enjoyed taking a break from tanking. and getting to watch the damage I dealt was alot of fun. To bad one of my best gaming friends just didnt like the game, I loved it. I think he just didnt like the fact that I wasnt the tank. He has gamed with me for 9 years now and well I have always been the tank in our groups.
Right now I am back to WAR and Playing a SM... for the first time ever I am playing a tank that specializes in a little extra DPS. Alot of fun and fairly different to the normal tanking I go for. I love the amount of customization WAR gives.
And here is a twist The worst most boring class I have ever played.
While I didn't care much for the game itself, I have to say that the Druid and Ranger classes from EverQuest were and are my absolute favorites out of all of the MMOs that I have tried. The premise of the classes with their huge repetoir of skills and spells was fantastic. EverQuest did a pretty darn good job with all of their classes, just wish the game didn't suck so badly.
With PvE raiding, it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fawning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression, anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privilege. - Neanderthal

My most favourite character was my smuggler/crafter in early SWG.
In more recent years, probably my cow druid in WoW.
Playing: EVE, Final Fantasy 13, Uncharted 2, Need for Speed: Shift

And offcause i have to mention the Mageazon in diablo 2 !
my favorite class is a agent in anarchy online
they can simulate that they are another class and can use some of there buffs heals etc

1. EQ1 Beastlord - I've never enjoyed a class quite as much as this one. Had a blast.
2. EQ1 Bard - Dotting mobs while running in circles at ridiculously fast speeds was just plain fun.
3. DAOC Theurgist - Had tremendous fun spamming ice elementals at mobs. This was the first and only caster class in any MMO that I truly enjoyed.
