Okay, I have read the UO forums many times, and I got to say, some people whine way too much! Here are some of the issues that they whine about (talk about ridiculous!)
Trammel And Felleca:
Okay, this is the most part of the bitching. Maybe that change did put a little excitement out of the game, but it doesn't mean it's the end! I mean, I think that was acctualy was a good idea.
For exp: A little n00b (first timer) is cutting wood in a non-guard zone, suddenly, a red comes up, and he doesn't know what to do (the red is a vet, no doubt.) The "red" then, beats the shit out of him, and probably the n00b freakin quits.
Give it some air, man! WTF?!
UX:O
Okay, who the f*** cares? We still have UO, the only reason everyone wants UX:O is because they are being peptomistic about UO, and not even giving it another chance after UX:O was cancelled. If you stopped whining and started playing the game, maybe something good will come out. Hey, the new Samurai Empire expansion might be good, and maybe that will let on a chain of them.
I know I am going to get flamed by this, but I am glad thats off my chest.
Thanks,
-Zephrith

Your complaint about us complaining about Trammell and Felluca well thats 3 year old complaint, so for you to tell us to shut up about it well does not carry much water and its really not such a hot button of contention anymore, its a sore that won't heal is all but everyone accepts it.
Anyways I do not think its valid to tell us to shut up about it, being that its so old.
UX:O, again thats a few month old complaint seeing as the new UO expansion has come out.
What I think has happened is you really have just read those threads and are fed up, but you truly do not have the pulse of what today's problems with Ultima Online is. So I allow your venting but do not allow you to vent about those topics.
I'd say it's more ridiculous to whine about us whining about obsolete issues.
First of all, that's really a lost battle now. It's rarely discussed. I still dont think the two lands should have been made because it resulted in Red's being dumped in one place, organizing, and then picking off anyone who comes around with their increased numbers (Hey, it's a lot safer to be a red when there are entire red guilds out there, so of course more of them came about.)
Besdies that, your arguement is completly shallow, and relates very little to the topic. I was against the split, and I played through it for quite some time. I assure you, role playing as an orc sucks when their home base is in Felucca. Daily raids by scripting non-role players isin't fun. Eventually I left for other reasons.
I think the main reason people want UX:O is because it looks like a better game. I was still playing UO when I heard about UX:O and I was glad they were going on to something new. While I'm still in love with UO's graphics (Nope, I'm not being sarcastic, I loved how the game looked.) it looked like it was going to be a better game.
That's nice. Now go play UO and look at the current problems.Docter rat, Luvravi, I guess you guys are right. I just all mad because I see all this rants. Guess it was kinda a bad idea (I still like UO though.) and I was whining, so your right.
Disscusion for now: Who still likes UO? Anyone thinksTrammel and Felleca will combine one again.
P.S Docter Rat, I love your grammer skills. All grammer nazis unite!
Its moot to say they should not have been split lands, but I concede your ability to make your statement on a topic we NEVER had any control over.
This is what we should be discussing, The Devs utter lack of creative development in post-AOS RED areas, Your Statement about reds grouping to pick off others be them red or blue, is sheer insanity, there is fear in being a red anymore, You are allowed to insure your items, murder counts do not mean anything meaninful. Changing code so reds cn go into all towns, does felluca really even need more than one town?
The arguements that I detest are statements "Reds are people to" and they use the reasoning that they should get stuff as well.
Why bother to have red now, just make everyone blue and we all know felluca is a PK country so be it. Colors do not distinguish any importance whatsoever. Saying well you have to wait for the red to attack you so you do not become grey is a weak arguement because you will be arguing it while a ghost, unless you flee better than a red.
We should be arguing as well, mage dominance in Post-AOS PvP, Mage dominance since UO has been in existence.
How about this, the first 2 weeks or first month of AOS release, can anyone recall how nerfed Mage spell damage was? while everyone was getting use to the new magical resistance, and having the different resistances. I will state my very life that mage spells were nerfed with AOS be it bug or design, but it was changed/scraped and all spell damages were increased before anyone had their max jewerly set ups and artifacts. Mages with AOS have ridden high and higher ever since.
Even before AOS, mages still had edges because of their ability to land spells by using the healthbars of all players instead of hitting the moving characters avatar.
Would it be justice for holy to conquer evil?
what i miss the most in uo is the server abyss not sure how many of you remember it and the first and only good version of the colour wars... the colour wars existed on abyss WAY before this faction shait they run now.. I was one of the most unpredictable and evil mofos on the server i didnt give a rats arse if you where of the same coulour as me i killed ya anyway
I agree with you, too many babies and kids playing online game on these days. They have been experienced a 'safe' gameplay. Unless agree to duel with someone else, they just don't want to get killed by others. Well, UO is different, by the time someone steps into Felucca, it means he is risking himself into unknown danger. Reds, and greys would be likely the most threat. Just deal it. It's not like we are forcing new players to come into Felucca.
abyss was awesome, if i wasnt playin on pacific i was there
Anyway, most of the people who complain about UO are just a show-off to others as they play new generation of games. Games where the graphics are cool but need a kick-ass computer specs. Indeed UO is an old game, but doesn't mean it's only old school players. New players can play it without worrying about the need to upgrade their PC's.
