I'm planning on making a return to EQ2 (that is if CoH's architect stuff doesn't draw me in), and I was wondering a few things.
What server has high population, even at low levels? I'm not much for soloing; I can't even play single player games these days--I get lonely. Oh yeah, and PvE, not PvP.
Are Warlocks played? I see that they are the AoE type, and in my mind that means "gets killed alot and is pretty much useless in a group since they don't target individuals."
Are offensive healers/utility classes played/useful in a group? While inquisitor, defiler, and dirge seem intriguing, are they favored by groups? Particularly the defilers I'm asking about, because that aura they have just looks cool.
Is mesmerizing actually important in this game? I remember back when I played people would start a heroic opportunity and go ahead and let an AoE trigger, rendering mezzing kinda pointless. Is it actually used? I played EQ for a good while, and I fell in love with the enchanter. Makes me kinda sad I haven't seen any enchanter equivalents in the games I've played since.
I'd appreciate any input on these things, y'all take care.

so far, the one ive found out to have a lot of people would be antonyia bayle .. or however you spell it.
Thts the one ima start back on later tonight if patching doesnt take me a year and a half.
and im pretty sure every class is needed somewhat, and are better at some things more then others.
I know ima do the enchanter thing myself, because as i played EQ1, its been my favorite class for so long.
PS - All mammals have nipples.
Get over it already.
Well first as far as servers go, when you create your character the last section you need to create your name and choose your server, the ones at the bottom of the lists are the most populated for your time slot. I just started a new alt on the Crushbone Server, and it seems very busy even at low levels.
Warlocks are played and there are lots of them, They get groups very easily and put out massive damage. They have alot of encounter spells along with aoe's and some single target spells. If your interested in playing a warlock go ahead, they are a blast to play.
All priests are useful in groups, and requested for often. Bards (Troubadour and Dirges) are also highly sought after for their buffs.
The mezz classes Illusionist and Coercer, are used often also. Their mezzes work and as long as a creature is already mezzed AOE's won't affect it unless it is the primary target. They are also probably one of the best soloers for the times you are not grouped.
I have quite a few alts, I play, a Swashbuckler, Shadownight, Fury, Necromancer, Warlock, Troubadour, Dirge, and a Brigand, and have not had much trouble finding groups.
So if you decide ot play, I hope oyu enjoy your stay.

Thanks for the responses y'all. Good information, and I'm glad to see that each class I was concerned about has a place in groups (as I said, I love groups). Y'all take care, and I think I'll check out crushbone.
