not yet. Guess that each "high" server has a pop of about 5-8K, medium at 2-5K, and low at 0-2K people.
Theres about 20 eastern and pacific servers (40 total), about 5-8 mountain servers, and around 10 central. so they have about 55-60 servers
Figure about 30 of them are maxed, 20 are medium and the rest low. However this is only a guesstimate and only refers to people playing live, not active subscriptions. Since usualy there is only about a 1/3 of active subscribers playing the game at peak hours. So my guess would be around 600-800K subscriptions.
It's really impossible to tell just by looking at the server numbers. I would say there are more like 3-4k people on "high" servers. If that is true, that cuts that number just about in half.
And you're also talking about the middle of the afternoon.. and who knows how many more will log in tonight.. too big of a margin of error to guess really.
Its is difficult to tell right now since they're limiting the number of people playing in the newbie areas using Queues. We know one thing for sure, they need more servers! With all the pvp servers on high population, even the normal pve servers are showing some strain...and it's not even the first weekend yet.
About 200,000 accounts opened on day 1. Not the 500-600k some people were imagining but great numbers for a MMORPG. From what I have heard the initial box run was 250k, then about 2 weeks before the next batch of boxes. If they can get things stabilized, this game has a chance to break many many records for a North American MMORPG. Personnally I am not sure if I will end up here or in EQ 2, but it is a lot of fun choosing between 2 great games.
