If you are looking for an MMORPG, I would recommend Guild Wars.

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
    Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

thanks for the ideas ...i am not sure what i want...like i said the biggest thing is i don't want to get into something that has anything over 2 hour raids or instances...

Both Eve Online and Saga of Ryzom have 21 day trials.

If you want something totally different than Wow try those.

    Playing: EvE, Ryzom

Aion has been released in Korea and China now and will hit the US market in Sept of this year (Japan in June). You will feel real at ease playing it as it has a similar feel to it, just updated several years. Graphics and gameplay are much better then WoW and has a very easy to use user interface. If you can hold out till Sept grab it.

I've been playig it on the beta servers and it really does rock. Great game. Lot so info on it on the forums here.

Wasn't there like 4 new Free 2 Play MMO's released just over the course of April 30th - Now? How are you able to play Aion if you can't read or speak Korean btw?

6 hours a raid??! Trying to clear Ulduar in 1 night? The most my guild does is 3 hours and we accomplish plenty.

Who the hell raids 6 hrs a night anymore?  Unless you are in the top 0.5% of the guilds in the world, nobody raids 6hrs a night anymore.  Im in a very good guild on my server, and we accomplish alot in 25 mans by 3hrs a night max raiding 3 days a week max, and doing 10 mans whenever you want.  Actaully this is the best time to raid.  The long grinds of 40 man raids are well over.  Thank god.

I recomend Guild wars also. You don't have to put in a huge amount of time to accomplish things. No monthly subs are pretty nice as well.

I have been back on LOTRO for awhile now and I am loving every minute of it!! I am a die hard Lord of the Rings fan, so that might be some of it, but I really love the story driven base behind the game... It doesn't have a very deep or rewarding pvp system, but I came for the PVE stuff, so it doesn't bother me.. I would reccomend this to anyone!! Also, the end game and higher lvl content does not require endless days and weeks of your time!! I game a lot, but lately have not had as much time to sit and play for a long time, but LOTRO is always enjoyable, even if it is just for an hour or two.. Good luck finding a new game, hope this helps!

Give Age of Conan a try. It seems they are rising from the ashes. Bruised but still alive.

They have a free trial atm so no cost, only time.
