I can't but fully agree to that.
I am surprised that unlike MMORPG.com stuffs ability to run these forum they have some taste on good games.

Darkfall a good game?
Having fun with it, is okay.. but calling it good?
I mean it is so hardcore that... meh run out of those how-hardcore-DF-is-jokes.
Its better then good it is the best MMO out there at this moment. AV has a big chance, if they continue to improve the very solid core it may it get one of the best MMO (that said i have never played UO and for me a non-seamless World MMO is not a MMO).
Also i am confident in that AV is in the best way to achieve that by the speed of their weekly patches.

A 'correspondent' is an unpayed fan of the game who writes articles for MMORPG.COM..... they 'hire' that position from current fans of the game.. it is not an independant person who tries the game and then writes a review. It is someone who loves the game already, then applies for the position, and then writes their opinion.
Check out AmazingAvery on the AOC forums. You would swear that AOC could cure the blind from the stuff he writes about AOC.

And to clarify, that's not MMORPG.com, that's one correspondent, for your statement to qualify, you would need loving adoring statements from all correspondents, writers and such on this site, one writer does not this site make. And why you may fully agree with his assertation, there are quite a few that would disagree with you. Go back to enjoying your game, I won't fault you for it, but please for the love of all that is good and holy in this world, let the thread die. If you feel the need to praise your love, then start a new thread, with something fresh and new, as that link is old news.
(Sorry if I sound ornery, but waking up every hour on the hour due to working last night and responding to emergencies has left me a bit tired.)

I was just surprised is MMORPG.com staff and writes such a fair article. But however despite the fact WHO has written it i fully agree with most of WHAT he has written because i find myself agreeing ( just can't say much to his DF-UO comparison, cause never played UO) .

I think a discussion of an article about a game should also have his place in a forum about that game too. I don't find a discussion about an article about DarkFall in a forum about DarkFall misplaced. It is really the appropriate place for such discussion.

No Darth, what I write is related. They are opinions, much like what you wrote was an opinion. See the relation, or do we need reading comprehension 101? Can you not draw a line from point a to point b, and grasp the concept?
I would put more stock in your opinion if you could truly tell me stuff you like about this game without resorting to one of the few stock answers the super fanboys write about this game, or try and pull from posts of the past. Thrage, I think it is, is writing a fairly enteraining piece on his adventures in DFO, and you know what, he actually has something to say about the game.
Come on, be brave, come up with something new and original, it won't hurt, I promise.

Sure. I mean, if your goal is to create a thread that rehashes all the same comments, disagreements and everything in between. That said, those that frequent this forum, as you can see by the audience that commented in that other thread, most likely are already aware of the article and, anyone else reading the article would have used the comment link at the bottom of the article. Now, regarding hte approriate place for the discussion, I believe a thread started by a staff member of the site, with the express intention of discussing the article, is the appropriate place. I'm fine with that being a difference of opinion though. Enjoy the rest of your thread though as debate over the wisdom of even starting it is likely the least of the things that will be brought up.

If i write anything about the game i will get bullied by the haters on these forum.
But i can cite MMORPG.com staff articles that expresses my view. That article was spot on except maybe for my taste it should draw a bigger line towards the haters and condemn their opinions, because my experience of the game is the opposite of what i often read in these forum written by haters. But somehow not expected a MMORPG.com correspodent did a fair write up.

OK, let me explain this AGAIN. This was not someone who was on the staff of MMORPG and then decided to play Darkfall and write this review.
This is someone who was a big FAN of darkfall, then became a member of MMORPG to be the correspondent for the game. In order to become the correspondent for a game, MMORPG **** REQUIRES***** you to be a fan already. You are 'surprised' that someone who was hired because they are a fan of the game, wrote an article that is overall positive?

That article is so bad and so theatrical, that the author wasn't even named and instead used "Gues Writer". Obviously, because he doesn't want to be identified.

If you have fun with a game does that not mean it's actually good?
What does it need to do be life changing? Does it have to be a total innovation over everything that ever released to be considered good by you?
I personally don't know anyone who has fun in a game that sucks.

Baw this reviews not great. Baw it's not praising this uber "hardcore" awesome game where "carebears" get owned. Everyone here just an hero. Do something more constructive with your time. These comments are all just tl;dr. Games crap, find something better to do then fap to any reference of Darkfail.

After the 3rd week, nothing is new, it's the same ole bullshit, over and over and over.... Darkfall = boring
I have to assume that you've never played Tabula Rasa, Planetside or Counterstrike, let alone Battlefield... so, of coarse you believe DFO is great. You're a newbie and this is your first taste of Clan combat. (Poor little thing.) But, eventually you will grow up and find other real games, with real combat and real content and you'll look back and laugh at yourself for being such a fanboi.

Okay, read what Thrage wrote. In that thread, and I am not going to speak for every page because I refuse to waste that much of my life looking post by post, but with the majority of his posts, he is getting very little bashing. In my estimation (and yes, just an observation/opinion, and we all know how dangerous opinions can be), he is writing some things about the game that is not resorting to the usual default answers about DFO. He is just writing as he sees it, does it in an entertaining manner, and is coming up with what feels like to me, to be a somewhat of a fresh look.
To be honest, and I am walking a line I normally try not to cross, I have seen enough info about the game to think it is nothing but utter cr@p. Yet, I can respect what Thrage has to say about the game, and not feel the need to trash and bash him. Sometimes it is how you express or say these things that makes all the difference.
If you like the game, feel free to post about it, but just try and say the things you like that we haven't heard before from the other super fans. Expect there will be some criticism, be prepared, thicken you skin, but you'll get more respect if you avoid the things other fans written that have drawn the ire of those with a distate for the game, which is nothing more than resorting to the default answers we have grown to loathe.

I don't feel being lied to, there is nothing i am missing much in these game and the core features are there.
The game offers for me great game play it really is the best game on the market for me right now (again - as for me. i don't play anything else then sandbox and theme park games don't fall into category MMO as for me, so i don't play them) .
The combat is great for an MMORPG , ok i never spend time in a pure FPS game but as MMORPG veteran i say thesecombat of DarkFAll is a very succesfull way to add to the usually MMOPRPG combat, it is fun and it adds personal twitch skill in the usual select skill and tab target- fire it, at least i having a blast using it.

My 7th - 8th week now. I have a feeling of learning new aspects in the game with every new day. I did not grind or power-grinded. I play and enjoy it.

NO taularasa was themepark, Planet side happened to be $OE Counterstrike and battlefield are FPS. I am a pure MMORPG player.

If I recall correctly, Darthraiden is Maniacal the leader of some DF clan called Dog company. You can check their videos online on one of these streaming video sites. Just listening to him and his clanmates will give you a good idea of the type of player he is and why he thinks DF is good. Its a rare glimpse into a true fanboi's playstyle and personality, all of which allow you to better judge his perspective and its proximity to reality. I personally think DF is the mmo for fps players. Very limited skillsets and crafting, shallow player development, clan centered community, pve content is almost non-existent and at its core the act of fighting itself is the point. It has its audience but "Its so simple a caveman could do it" and "yes", sadly, attracting the immature and socially obtuse is a viable marketing strategy.

Enough with the Darkfall. If people want to play it they will play it. If you love the game go play it. If you don't stop talking about it.
Sorry I'm just sick of seeing posts about this game rehashing the same opinions.
