Abusing rating system.

I'm very shock to see the rating between WoW and EQ2. How the hell can WoW graphics get a better rating than EQ2? Don't get me wrong, WoW is a great game and I love playing it, but the graphics sux. EQ2 graphics is way better than WoW. What's going on people? The fanboi are abusing the system and they need to be more honest. Hey I'm a Blizzard fanboi too, but I don't over rate the game graphics just to see the overall rating get higher.

Graphics don't need to be measured by poly count. I very much enjoy the style, and environment of WoW. Thus, I gave the gfx a high score.
To be honest, if your enjoying EQII, whats the problem?

I agree Polygon count does make good graphics.
I would also say that just cos WoW's are cartoons does not make them poor artwork.
I think EQ2 graphics are just ugly and poorly animated, where I think WoW graphics are beautifully constructed and well animated.
Its called personal opinion.

i agree... 2 other things i found funny were the rating in "community" and "role-playing"... both of these rating are higher for WoW, however everybody knows WoW is (for the most part) lesser in both departments then EQ2...
it just goes to show how much WoW fanboi's suck my lefty...

You say you dont consider the graphics bad, because they are "stylised"? Are you saying then that the opening CG intro for WoW doesnt hold the same style that warcraft has had since Warcraft 2? Are you saying that just because a game is stylised doesn't mean it cant use advanced technology? Face it, regardless of style WoW is dated. You say it looks good now, but i 100% guarntee you that if Blizzard made some drastic changes to their graphics engine tommorow, keeping the same style and feel to it, that you would look back on the old engine and think it was pretty crappy. I rest my case.

Yes, LOTR CGI looks better then Tron CGI. This assumes we are comparing Tron to LOTR. You also seem to think that I am comparing WoW to EQII, which will be discussed later, and is related to the complex which alot of posters have on this fourm.

Yes, thats true, and if you rest your case there, its very lacking! It could also be said that if EQII got a highly updated gfx boost to LOTR quality, that you would, by comparison say, they sucked before.
What alot of people seem to miss about the "reviews" is that there is no basis for comparison. I haven't played EQII, never seen an EQII movie, so I don't really care what it looks like. I simply rated WoW based on how it ran while I was playing, and what i felt it earned. (btw I choose to play WoW solely based on where my guild was going, and nothing more.)
Your entire rant seems to be based on some imaginary scale which we all must conform too. It is important to note that the whole review process on this site is based on people opinions. I am baffled, why so many of you care so much, about what a bunch of random people think.

Apparently you have no clue what im talkign about. I dont know where this whole LOTR/Tron CG crap came from... and nowhere in my post did I mention EQ2. General WoW fans always say how the graphics are good because they have style to them. Really, the graphics aren't that great, and I was comparing the detail and depth of the CG movie OF WOW and to how a game can still have style and look good. Of course there is no direct basis for comparison, and i have no clue where I try to conform anyone to some imaginary scale I have, but if you look at current game technology (Far Cry, Half-life 2, Doom 3, Unreal) you can clearly see WoW is very dated. Im a big fan of Warcrafts style but thats no reason for there to be blocky models and blurry textures.
I with you EQ2 is way better in WoW in a million way but yet WoW has a huge rating
Now, that is just an opinion. Don't start any flames.

I said this in another Thread before...
I think there are more fanatic fans voting everything 10 points for WoW than it happened by any other game before.
My suggestion: Delete all everything-10-votes! That's not rated reasonable but simply fanatic overrating!
If you don't "correct" this rating:
1.) You get a wrong picture of this game!
2.) You can't trust any other rating on this page! Now and in future.
Another suggestion would be to do the rating-ladder not by the user ratings but by the staff ratings.
This WoW-Rating as it is must be treated as a joke!
