I would suggest you just wait for the release in Europe, there isn't any garentee (or how spelled) that you can switch servers afterwards. They only play with that thought. And with so much people already boughed the game it will hard to get on a server :P

Plus you need a valid US address for billing (that isn't so much the problem as i hear one guy put Croydon 90120 and it worked) The biggest prob is the uncertainity that your credit card will work.
Yep its a real risk. I've got the Beta game on my machine now and I can't play as you need to buy the retail version to get the game key. Blizzard are being very annoying with the "You can't play on USA servers unless you have a USA billing address" attitude.
Normally I like to take a very laid back view of international relationships with our bretheren across the pond but this USA only approach is rather annoying for the rest of the planet. Only 1 in 4 USA citizens even know what a passport looks like, so is it any wonder that Blizzard have forgotten that the rest of the world exists.

Another brummie on mmorpg can't be a bad thing....hope we hook up on WOW
Well though i am having goods fun in EQ2 i decided to pre order the european version of WoW since in 2 or 3 months a lot would have changed since i was in beta.
I ordered from game.net myself .Went for standard edition since i have been dissapointed with every CE i ordered in past.
Like i said before i will definately not order a US version.Only pro is that with conversion of £ to $ its actually cheaper to import but the cons are much more.
1)no guarantee it will work to begin with if you can't pass the CC address
2)forging details for a mere game.
3)Your character is always at risk.Say you decide you really love this game and will play it for over a year.A lot can happen even if remote chance of it.You get hacked ,very bad bug, been reported and looked into by CSR etc.If ever anything comes to them having to check your account details it is easy to spot the fake address and the issueing bank(barclays card with walmark address lol).
I honestly see little reason to take this risk myself and since i have a game pre occupying me atm feb 2005 looks even too close .Plus for those solely waiting for WoW u can get a beta account if you pre order now.
The beta account is only for the final beta, probably just the last stress test for europe and the open beta. Don't think they're letting you in to the closed beta.

Well I'm gonna wait in that case.
Just pre-ordered the CE WoW from gameplay, as they've just been added as a new campaign partner on the wow europe site.
