LF MMO with DEEP genre

NirumiNirumi Member Posts: 19

little bio:

Currently subscribed: LOTRO, Vanguard, EQ2 (trial), Warhammer online (almost one month free up).

Played: SWG (MY favourite of all time), Asheron's Call (my first MMO and 2nd fav), AoC, EVE, WoW, and more that I can't even remember.

Tried: The Chrnoicles of Spellborn, Runes of Magic

Hi guys, I've been wandering for the MMO games for pretty long time and I want to settle in a game now that like when I was playing SWG I spent 2-3 years.  I know there are lots of MMO games out here but I found that many games are too straight forward as to call themselves MMO.  What I'm looking for in MMO genre are very deep into Player driven Economy, Housing, Community.  Yes, SWG totally offered that kind of gameplay many years ago before they screwed it up and many people left the game and no more that kind of population to keep the economy and community going.  Also there are too many games such as WoW I think I would consider them Online Adventure games more like a MMO to me.

Something I want in the game:

1.) Housing is important as people can setup shops and make people want to come visit you.  AT least If I'm going for crafter I felt myself very important.

2.) Very active community that people is friendly and MATURE

3.) Economic are totally base on player drivern.  People demand on crafting items !!

4.) Open PvP

So I'm looking for a game that offered me those kind of huge experience, hell I am even willing to spend my time and develop myself into that game and build a community or whatsoever.  Vanguard so far is a good PVE game but heard PVP is a desert.  EQ2 I heard they offered good housing now but I'm not sure if will make people acutally want to visit your house to buy stuffs from you.

Yes I'm a bit picky but ... yea .. wish there is a game like that :D

If you're willing to accept that PvP doesn't have to involve combat, then A Tale in the Desert fits your description.  If you want open PvP that consists of combat, that will attract all the wrong sorts of players, so you won't find a mature playerbase in a game like that.

    ahh well ...

    -.-

that game totally not worth the money of monthly fee with the graphics -.-

    well ... anything else??

There won't be any good game on the market for a long time, at least two years, so you might as well have to wait, unless you try those asian games. Which is one venue I am considering.

We are in a MMO recession. I know about 5 people who used to play a mmo as for anyone who currently play one.

A Tale in the Desert is really deep, however I have another suggestion *spotlights switched on" , why not try Wurm Online.

First of all, in terms of graphical aspects, it's actually not bad. It's all in first person, and overall if you combine the graphics, effects and everything, it's beautiful (un scripted rain, fog, rainbows etc.)

Second, although it lacks animations, it's easily looked over (for most who play at least)

Third, being a deep game as it is (you need to invest loads of time in this game), the younger audience normally walk away after an hour or two

Fourth, this game is ALL about crafting, build a house, a boat, a port, a land bridge.... the possibilties are endless

Fifth, in the recent update, the whole world is open to all server raids etc. (cept' for trial server --> next point)

Sixth, still not convinced? go to the website and try a free account, though you are limited to a level 20 cap, you can still do all the things mentioned above in the crafting section ... and it's unlimited, no time trial nuthin...

I cannot simply describe the whole game in a single post, for a more detailed description, check this review out, it's old but it covers the basics (before the game went gold, so much has changed)

Other than that good luck on your search

yup, i log in now and then with my mates, fooling about, travelling together, and best of all havin' fun.

However I do warn you though, this game is very time comsuming, and it takes a while to get used to everything, the time it takes to cook a meal, time it takes for one to heat up an iron ore... plus the lack of animations and such leave some players dissapointed....

however, in exchange you have a huge world awaiting you, and the graphics  fits well with the game, the community is really helpful (most atleast) and the many different options too.... here's a sample of me and my friends travels xD

(in that video, i guess it shows what players can do... drill a hole in the mountain from bottom ... to top, which i believed took them 2 weeks of hard work)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GEyxIPOIbs

gives you an example on the beauty of the game, the graphics and the fog in the night (^^)

you might see some repeating footage in the end, but it shows our journey from day 1 (or to be more precise - the videos youtube previously took off) but you get to see some of our travels and such

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-gdqns6bes

FINALLY (lawl) here's our very first day in the game, the confused and excited newbs we were

P.S. - the maps you see in the free trial area might look different because they previously made free players go to the home server - which now is home to raiders and premium players (however, ours is still thankfully free and are able to stay there for a bit)
