What does WoW have, that other existing mmorpg's do not have.
Specifically, why do you guys like this game so much? Avoid phrases like "cause its fun" etc. I want specifics!
I just uninstalled EQ2 because it did not inspire me to play. I would log on, look at my character selection screen and log off. I bought WoW, and I feel pretty much the same. Maybe some insight will motivate me to play WoW. Maybe there is something I am missing.
I have seen the Arctic Circle... And it is round.

WoW has:
PvP - balanced PvP.
Easy to use interface.
A beautiful virtual world, not technically stunning, but fantastic artistic work.
Strengths of other mmorpg's, buts refined and combined.
I have been doing the exact same thing as you with EQ2..., i think you should give at least WoW a 2. try, if not for the gameplay, just take a cruise through the world... it really is something unique.
I like your signature.

i like the talens that if you do it right can help your character greatly... like i have a warrior with alchemy and herbalism so i can make myself potions without going back to town that greatly help my character also the high lvl monsters that take more than just a high lvl character to beat.
I have the game, have been playing. I am finding myself in the same boat that I was w/ everquest2. I feel like a guy who can't find a girlfriend he likes. I AM WITHOUT A HOBBY!
I manage about 1 hour a day before I log off and watch CSPAN.
As for my signature, THANKS! I live in Alaska, and that is the answer I told my exgirlfriend when she asked me what the arctic circle looked like. She said "oh". Hah. . . Girls.
I have seen the Arctic Circle... And it is round.
Could you be more specific, in terms of what you don't like? From my own experience in the OB, i thought that WoW was boring in the beginning, due to not having many spells/abilities. But as the game progressed and i gained levels, the game became more and more entertaining. Its a matter of patience, but i think its worth it - when you become a high level lots of strategic possibillitys opens up, from a PvP point of view that is. Unlike other PvP oriented mmorpg's, you actually have to think about what you are doing in a hectic PvP battle, you have to cast spells in the right order, you have to place yourself at the right location, you have to retreat according to your group/faction, the list goes on.
Regarding your exgirlfriend, that is just the typical answer.. hehe. Some girls have to have the point of a joke shouted into their ear, before they get it. Others just waits for someone to laugh first, as an indirect sign of permission for them to laugh.. *sigh*

I guess what draws me back to WoW to keep playing is the story. Each race has a story regarding what they are doing there, why they are fighting, etc. The Dwarves are trying to learn their history. The Trolls want their old way of life back. The Undead want to survive against humans that are trying to reclaim their homelands.
Each quest that I've played has something to do with these storylines. I enjoy reading the quests, not just to see what to do, but why I'm doing it. There hasn't been a big grind with WoW that I've noticed (tho my top character was only lvl 12). In those 12 levels, however, I didn't have to kill a single creature that wasn't part of a quest or on the way to a quest. This is so much more refreshing than games where you just have to go out and kill for the sake of killing just to get XP.
I guess the biggest caution I would give you is if you don't like the race you've started with, try a different one. Some races have more interesting quests than others (night elves, in particular, were very interesting to me, undead bored me). Different people like different things. You get 10 characters per server - there's 8 races and 9 professions, so you can try everything out and see what you like.
Whatta ya know, WoW has introduced something new. Instead of level grind, we now have quest grinding! Sure its more to the point than killing random things endlessly, but the quests arent anything special either. They are either a fedex, gather or kill quest. Elite quests (at least the ones I was) were just a combination of kill/fedex quests too. The Epic I got for Undead was to go kill some guys in Orgrimmar then bring them a book... not that Epic, other than flying accross the Ocean. Yes the quests do tie in to a larger story which I will give credit to, thats pretty cool, but its really just sweeping the garbage under a nice carpet.
What I did like about WoW was the graphics (Ya i bash the graphics cause their old, so sue me), the quests did make me feel like I was part of somethign important (even though there are a couple thousand others doing the exact things I was), leveling is easy, and the world was fairly big... but due to its repetative gameplay, and little innovation it just couldnt sway me to buy retail (if you dont remember I was in OB). I will admit I did like WoW, but it would have gotten old for me quick.
WoW's biggest strength is fun.
Combat is fun and vary varied, some mobs act differently than others which is freshing.
Each class is very individual and different so try a few into the mid teens before settling on one or giving up the game.
If you love Quests this game is for you, there are lots and the rewards are very good, surprisingly good at times. Best thing about the Quests are they remove the grind factor (I dont agree that its Quest Grinding as I didnt even notice I was doing it ). At times I would gain a level without noticing because I was concentrated on a quest.
Its designed for low to medium usage players. Hardcore players will eat up the content too quickly unless they like having a few characters.
Once the servers settle down there should be very little to no lag (was none during the Stress Test).
Every Class can solo well, but I encourage you to group in Elite Dungeons, the drops make you drool!!! Plus xp is better.
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
Maybe you just need to lay off the drugs.
what kind of quests can you get in a game?
Asherons Call was good in quest, you had triggers and all kind of stuff including mazes and such, they should hire some of turbine's old guys, they don't need em anymore since veteran ac'ers switched to wow and eq2
