Enchanting in Aion

jefaw82jefaw82 Member UncommonPosts: 72

I am in need of help, advice, and suggestion. Today I got mad at Aion. Actually got mad at a game I adore and respect for being all levels of awesome. Here is what went down:

I am level 12.

I get almost to the final stage of my "neutralization" mission and decide to enchant my sword. Now I have enchanted before, my plate chest is +1, so I know the basics.

I had six magical items in my inventory that I wasnt going to use because they were weaker than what I was wearing. So I go to a General Vendor and buy 6 extraction pouches (about 12,000 Kinah).

Extraction went without a hitch. I got ( 3) level 8, ( 2 ) level 11, and ( 1 ) level 15 enchantment.

I started with a level 8 enchantment and targeted my sword, figuring the lower level the enchantment the higher the success rate like in other MMOs.

I failed.... all 6 times! I mean I could have sold those items and gotten a ton of kinah, but instead I spent a ton of Kinah and got nothing.

Can anyone tell me why?

What effects the success chance of enchanting?

What do I have to do to my character to obtain a higher enchanting success rate? Even before when I enchanted successfully, I didnt notice a skill increase so I have no idea what " luck " skill enchanting is attached to.

Please help. I would sure like to avoid becoming the poorest Aion player in the game... with nothing to show for all my spending.

Actually the higher the lvl of the stone the higher the success. You were just really unlucky.

to get a decent chance of them sticking they should be 5+ levels higher than the piece you're enchanting, if they are around the same level, you will still get alot of fails, if they're lower, don't even try.

seriously? The higher the enchantment the higher the success rate? Enchantments should be at least 5 levels higher than the equipment I am trying to enhance?

Why is this system all backasswards?  LOL

And is there somewhere I can read about the enchanting system? Where did you guys find out these things?

    Thanks.

We found out by playing and testing on Korean & Chinese retail. Best not to enchant your gear at your lvl,  It cost a lot and you will lvl too fast to keep that item for long.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

    *Must ... enchant .. weapon .. to .. kill them faster ... DIE DIE DIE * - RAWWWWWWR !!

A better option is to craft your gear. Crafted items are better and raising your crafting skills will help you more at higher lvls.

Thanks for the tips and advice. Guess I'll just extract and warehouse the upgrade until I'm higher level.  Whats a good level to try my hand at enchanting again?

I do work on crafting a lot, but to get to a crafting level where I can actually make equipment better than what I have seems a long way off, and more expensive than just using an enchant. Leveling in craft seems to be taking a looong time and costing my toon his life savings. lol

You can actually grind out levels in crafting for pretty cheap as long as you repeat the work order quests. I love that system because it allows new players without a large amount of money to get to the point where they're making their own armor / weapons / accessories / potions / etc...

What I did during chinese beta was just enchant gear to +1 mainly and left it at that. Also crafting isnt that expensive but upgrading the skill cap is gonna cost you.

is up grading the skill cap the same as learning it in the first place, about 3,000 kinah? or does it get progressively higher as you get better?

Just wanna know how much to set aside. ^_^

It gets higher same goes for adding new inventory slots.  Just craft some daggers or items you can easly make and that will sell in AH and you should be fine.

woo hoo! an enchantment finally stuck.... and man, its cool. Not like in other game where an upgrade to your weapon had abysmal effect. The damage is noticeable! Thank the heavens. lol

What crafting level do I need to reach to be able to make two-handed swords (if you know) ?

EDIT: nevermind, just got a recipe from doing crafting tasks for a two-hander... 40p was the target skill level.
