What is the next big MMORPG wave?

in Everquest II

its pretty safe to say that the latest release of both EQ2 and WoW was the big wave in the MMORPG community.

what will be the next big wave?

Matrix online and Guild Wars?

Mourning or Wish?

D&D online?

personally that game Roma Victor looks really good coming from a history buff and a RTW fan, but i don't have a cool.

    Not sure if this is the right board for this but I'll put in my 2 cents worth anyway.

    My money is on D&D Online. They have a great licence there and it seems like they are being true to it.

    DnDO will fail. Guild Wars will be big. They have the same open beta plans as WoW did.

    I put my 2cents in Darkfall, DnD Online, and DnL.

    I think these are going to surpass WoW and EQII.

    ^3rd generation mmorpg, not WoW or EQII with just their betta graphics, dis game is for everyone, whether ur a grinder, quester, group exper, w/e.

    GW, DnL, Wish, DDO, and Darkfall (mourning is a little too under the radar IMO) will be the next big ones. I dont see DDO being a failure, im sure it wont be very true the DnD but it should fun i think. Ones that I do see failing though are MEO, and MxO... ugh, matrix online *shudders* ::::07::::::07::::::07::

    Definately DDO. I'm really enjoying EQII, but if DDO is any good, then i will jump ship, as will most people who don't have the time/money to play more than one mmorpg.

    Dark and Light will be amazing.  I'm really looking forward to that game.   I think the big thing next year will be Vanguard beta.   Dark and Light will slowly push EQ2 and WoW to the side but i have a feeling that just about the time it starts to build a community Vanguard will kill it.   However, I still think EQ is the best game going.   It has far more content.  It's far more challenging than the new crop and now that WoW and EQ2 are out theres alot less goobers on it.  It's going to be hard to kill the king.

    The next big wave of MMO's will be PVP centric. Starting in febuary and prolly ending with the release of Darkfall.

    I dont think the next BIG game has been announced yet. I havent seen any game that are going to blow us all away. I think DnL will be kinda big and Guild Wars will be big for free games. Most likey we wont see another big wave of mmorpgs for another couple years.

    Guild Wars will be big, but only cuz its free. other than that, i have a feeling its going to be like the other 2nd generation mmorg.
