You base your opinion on the full game from one raid boss which happens to be the first ?
ok..
Based on their sub numbers over seas and the hype here, I don't think Aion needs hope.
Guys this game is fantastic, really iv finalyl found a new mmorpg to play.
March on! - Lets Invade Pekopon
lol, the music in that video is quite amusing...

I think i may be sticking with this one as well

QFT
It's really nothing new, but the atmosphere, even the music make this game pretty enjoyable.
Not to mention Sorcerer is pretty kickass.

Bingo - you nailed it, nothing new just polished and a lot of fun.

Looks pretty nice graphically, although gameplay doesn't look so great overall...
The fight seems pretty straight forward, and my god how long does it take? The video is cut so his HP skips all the way down, and then for the majority of the video they're smacking away at a sliver of HP...
The game looks fun, and I'm sure it'll do well, but I'm waiting (like many old timers in the MMO genre) for something actually new.
Most people say they want something new, but when they finally get what they ask for, they get upset because it's to new.

Guess I'm a little more alone on that front than I thought.
Oh well, I stick with my opinion that the game looks solid - just not for me.

No, I fully support wanting something new, I feel the same way. But I still stand by what I said, look at all the new mmos that had unique mechanics that pretty much flopped.

I don't think its a matter of not wanting something new, I think it's more a matter of unprofessionalism tbh.
Age of Conan had its unique combo attacks and sort of directional combat, and it was great when it worked but people quickly realized that retail had very little dynamic content after Tortage.
Darkfall (which I have not played) took a step towards new things with a more twitch based combat system, but from what I hear thats about all there is to it.
What needs to happen is a company (somehow) needs to convince a publisher that there's a market out there for something new. The "WoW made money, so lets make that" mentality is the big blockage for most publishers to get over/developers to avoid.

Exactly...its nothing new, it just takes the standard MMO conventions, polishes and improves on it.
Playing the chinese retail, ALOT of fun.
