Darkfall 2 days to download!!!

Last night I took the plunge and bought Darkfall. Shortly after I received an email instructing me to install utorrent and then attach the url link provided to start downloading the client.

Only problem being that it seems to be downloading an 8+gig file at an average of 70 to 90 kb/s - estimated completion time 2 days!!!

I am a utorrent novice, is there anything I can do to speed this up or is there an alternative site I can get the latest client from.

Stupidly I downloaded and installed the client from fileplanet that is version 1.0.31 hoping that it would autopatch the rest when I logged in to the game - NO!  Instead I get an error message saying the client is out of date.

PLEASE HELP!!!

    the official downloader really gives some ppl trouble so torrent is the way to go, make sure you give your download "high" bandwith allocation when you right click it.

    Maybe you should consider Vuze/Azareus instead, it is easier to use than Utorrent.

    But chanses are that not so many people are seeding and then you will get a slow download like this, in worst case you must either wait it out or have someone with the file and a FTP share it for you, maybe someone here is nice enough to do that for you...

    And seed yourself once you get it down, the problem here is that most players that have it down is not seeding.

    Personally, I use BitTorrent .

     

    Main thing, if behind a router, is to make sure the correct ports are open. Otherwise, you are spitting into the wind.

     

    As someone else mentioned, I would suspect that the number of "seeders" has fallen off drastically since release. If this is the case, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

    Not a torrent, broken into 5 parts, and seems to be a preety d'l rate. At least for me.

    Dude...dont use torrent. Just d/l the client directly, and it will auto install.

    Good chance your ports aren't open if you're behind a router or you have a slow provider... I DL'ed the Client last friday and it was moving at a whopping 1.8MB per sec. Finished the 8GB torrent in under 4 hours.

    it's most likely because of bad seeding, try the direct download link.
