This is TOR, and it's an MMO, there will be lots of Jedi players.

This or make one just one Jedi/Sith free server.

    Thanks.

Or find another game if you don't like the direction this one is taking, probably your best and logical choice.

    Ok, Mr Lucas.

Absolutely not. The whole point that made KOTOR so good was to play a Jedi. Removing that would make this game an epic failure.

long ago i had the idea to make all gm in swg a jedi. you would see one from time to time and they would try to keep the world a happy place ;)

and if you had messed something up you would know that a jedi (or better a dark jedi) is coming for you.

but then smelly had a better idea and killed the whole game :(

I think you might be a bit off the mark. Here is an equally plausible scenario:

Fighter #1 Real Player: Hey guyz you wanna go pwn that boss from that quest.

Agent #2 Real Player: Ya man we totally pwned it last night. It was so tight.

Medic #3 Real Player. brb, my mom said I have to eat supper

Fighter #4 Real Player: rofl, noob!

Player names: Sithlrd, Yodda, Jedhi, Mysaberpwnzu

My thought? just stay away from bad players.

That has got to be the most ignorant comment ever made on this forum. And that's saying something because there's been quite a few ignorant statements by people who seem have a hard on for bashing.

What a great idea. Let's make a Star Wars game in a period when jedi and sith are everywhere, but let's make them all NPCs.That will bring in the subscribers.

The more ignorance I read on this site  the more I'm thankful that you bashers will NEVER have any  authority on anything important. /thumbs up

    {mod edit}

The old republic is filled with jedi and sith Thats what the game is about. Hell thats what star wars in general is about.

That would be like making a Halo game and saying....Umm duh..  Were not gonna let you play as a spartan cause.. umm duh were afraid you might act like a dumb ass. and thats not cool

    Come on  get real.

If I play this game, I'll expect to be able to play through the story line as a Jedi.  And as a bounty hunter, or a common shmoo off the street.

No reason to limit the chioce, esp once you let go of the concept that this is a world simulation and realize its going to be something a bit different that we've seen in the past. (IMO)

Will we like it? That remains to be seen.

For example one could require completion of all the games content/  All raid and group content (once the game is at least a year old) in game plus some long collection quests as well as some specific extremely difficult questlines.  Make the entire questline take over 100 days played as well as requiring one to complete all the current games raid content, along with a few very rare drops and it will limit the amount of people ublocking Jedis.  But that should only be the beginning.  Once the Jedi is unlocked make the leveling process much slower 100-200 days played to max plus extremely difficult unlock quests for every level.
Such an example would not only ensure that only the most dedicated players end up being Jedi but only those with high skill.

So basically you guys are going from "balance" to if you have no life its ok to be OP?

I agree if your going to make a class rare or OP the time put in to achieve that reward has to be silly or otherwise everyone will end up achieving the reward.  Plus it would be nice to see something actually hard to obtain in a MMO.  Games now are so much about instant gratification with no effort.  Make some things actually require people to play the game.  3-500 days played for the most efficient and skilled players to achieve Jedi status would be nice.  Your casual player who plays 30-50 hrs a week can still achieve such a reward if he puts in the time and effort.

There is no way a game consistent with the Star Wars mythos could do this with Jedi.  In the time period we are discussing, by the age of adulthood (and player characters are typically adults) a force sensitive would already be at least a Padawan, fairly well-versed in the force.

As for SWG, it never should have had any Jedi.  Not a single one.  Didn't fit the timeline.

This is the lamest of lame. if thats the case everyone should walk around as civilians in game while the NPC's have all the fun because someone like you thinks that people do not bring dignity to the jedi class? So what makes you think any human player brings dignity to any class. You know this whole everyone going to be jedi thing is really starting to piss me off because of stupid shit like this. If you arent going to play a jedi then thats fine dont play one, you go play as a bounty hunter or a trooper or whatever  else class there will be that you WANT to play. Stop ragging on everyone elses fun, plug a cork in your leaky vagina stop crying and play the fucking game or dont.

Jedi don't have dignity to hurt anyway.  The Jedi are just a bunch of holier-than-thou, anti-human (in the metaphysical, not specific race, sense) candy-asses who *deserve* to be crushed.  What Vader did to Palpatine at the end of Episode VI was satisfying from the standpoint of personal revenge, but his greatest accomplishment was the destruction of the Jedi Order.
