Do you care about graphics in game?

I kind of care because I dont want it to be text-based because I want to see something but I dont care if it is 2d or 3d

    ya i do care about graphics, but gameplay always plays a much bigger part... just look at my siggy "Favorite Game - Lineage" and YES, i have played Lineage 2... need i say more?

    graphics is like... the 3rd thing i look for in an MMORPG, behind gameplay and community...

    I sorta care and sorta don't

    I'll play a game if it doesn't have the best graphics but everything else is very good. but a game with some really good graphics will keep my interest more sometimes

    Usually I just like a game that has a really good community

    I kida care but if i have alot of fun playing an mmo and its graphics suck i would still play it.

    I sort of care, but not a whole lot. I mean, I prefer the 3-d first person rather than the 2-d by far. Animation is the only thing really that I look at, I mean the way the character walks and such, not so much of the surroundings and environment. EQ2 looks a little too obsessed though (for me), when it comes to graphics.

    Graphics aren't too important to a game if you're having fun playing it but it helps to see nice things too. I would only consider playing a game with nice graphics if it does not slow down the game.

    I think WoW's graphics are great, polygons aren't everything. The animation and such in WoW is 10 times better than EQ2.

    Graphics should be good enough that you don't have a problem doing any of the things your character should be able to do effortlessly.  For instance, if you are supposed to be able to manipulate objects, you should be able to see them clearly, not be hunting around wondering if that's one or not (click, clickety, click) or have bullseye a 1-pixel area in order for it to register.  I shouldn't have blurry vision when looking at the screen. 

    This is doubly important in 1st person games as your focal point is in the distance rather than on your character as in 3rd person games.  One thing I hate about EQ is the "fog of war" forward view in many zones.  I find myself staring into the fog trying to see what's ahead and I end up with a headache.  It also makes me disoriented and makes it difficult to find your way around and that's difficult enough in EQ.

    I'm also on the "Graphics are not as important" bandwagon. My first MMMORPG was Redmoon Online USA, which had okay graphics, but I loved the community. From there I jumped to Lineage, which looks very similar, but it didn't hold me. Right now I play Shadowbane, which looks impressive, though I have to seriously tone down the graphic quality if I want to participate in a city siege; still, it plays sweet. If only I could say the same about the community... I also play Vendetta Online, and its graphics never cease to amaze, the gameplay is solid (twitch-based combat rocks) and the community is a joy.

    So for me, it goes:

    1. Community

    2. Gameplay

    3. Graphics

    Even though I'm currently an EQ2 player, somehow Ultima Online's graphics have always appealed to me, but I have not played it yet because I've heard people say it's a boring game.

    Art direction is far more important than technology. Who cares if something has x more polygons or bump mapping when it looks like ass (e.g. EQ 2).

    there are 3 things that matter to tme in a game.... graphics, gameplay, and storyline... if the game has 2/3 then i can play the game.... 1/3 is not enough 3/3 is the game for me.... lol i rhymed.

     

    so graphics kinda matter...

    No. Graphics do NOT matter to me. Storyline, community, and options are what makes a game for me. One of my favorite games to this day is Asheron's Call 1. I'd still play it if I wasn't so hooked on WoW right now. Even now, when the WoW servers are down, you can still find me in MUDS. www.Threshold-rpg.com is the one I play on because, even with out graphics, the game is so immersive. It's so immersive because it's a roleplaying MUD and the community is so involved in it, it's easy to get lost in the lore.

    i like it to have some halfway desent graphix

    like i dont care if its cartoony like WoW or cellshaded like Seed as long as it isnt some crapply looking thing that a SNES gfx look better i dont really care its all about the gameplay ::::08::
