Hey,
My bf and I are thinking of getting into this game due to the lovely artwork, novel skill-based combat, extensive customization options for characters, etc. etc. - all things we're looking for and excited about in a new game.
We see that TCOS has recently implemented arena battles as well. We're both interested in PvP via arena (not open/FFA PvP), so my question is: is there enough of a population that we could participate in arenas at low levels, or is this like AoC where nobody really does them until they're max level? We're coming from WAR and one of the best things about that game for us was the ability to jump into a scenario at any time while levelling.
Thanks in advance.

It really depends I guess., if you are on the EU servers, or the US ones.. if you are on the PVP servers or the PVE ones.. but im on the EU PVP (and they say EU has a low population) and the arena battles are fine here You just create a team, contant some other players and get in
A smart thing might be to contact some players in advance, by posting about it on the forums or so Or maybe there is already a special day in the week when most people are fighting arena matches?
If your on the US side, i cant really help you ^_ ^
hope this helps
Hi There,
You can access the Arena in the starter zone, as long as you have enough money to put together a team (2 person or 4 person) -though im not too sure of the actual costs of this, but im sure it wont be too difficult to get. The NPC's for this are next to the Mosh-Pit in Hawksmouth. Once you've put a team together, speak to the NPC's and join the queue for Ranked or Skirmish bouts, you'll be put against other teams of similar levels (usually) but depends on who else is queuing for it, so can sometimes produce unfair matches if not very busy - but it doesnt matter as Pep isn't lost in PVP.
Also the Mosh-Pit is a small fighting ring where low level people can practice PVP. Just hop into the ring, wait 30 seconds for the pvp countdown and brawl away. High level's sometimes use it to practice a new skilldeck or new techniques so may also be worth a visit for some friendly combat tips!
Enjoy!
I came from WAR too and this game is a bit different but VERY good. I can see alot of people not liking it though cuz nobody likes change. This game is not too cookie cutter but not too hardcore either. I think it's right the middle (sweet spot). The good part is you can try it up to level 9.9 now so if you dont like it just uninstall. I think most people that give this a real try will like it. People that are looking for more of the same will hate it.
Well, I gave it a try this evening, got up to level 5 and I'm quite impressed with the quest and combat system so far, definitely interested in going further. I signed up for a 2x2 skirmish at the arena and it popped for me in under 20 minutes (which is on par with WAR scenarios on the average night)... however, it was me and one other person versus a level 36 and level 40. I was only level 4! It was, um, a very short battle. I sincerely hope they institute some sort of balancing mechanism to match people within the same level ranges in the near future.
Still, we like what we saw and with that one caveat, we'll probably sub for at least a month while we check it out.
Good to hear you enjoyed it so far - it really is a good game, though it's not for everyone and a bit rough around the edges; but it's getting there.
The Arena system is new in the latest patch, so i dont think there's many people using it, and i doubt there'd be many teams around level 4-5 register for the arena to play against so instead of holding up the queue for too long, if there's no suitable challengers it will put you against the next team in the queue - it happened to me and my 'tag team' partner - both lvl 30, ended up in the arena with a lvl 50 and lvl 46 - again the battle didnt last too long xD
