Crimecraft, a contemporary world based on guns and PVP, now has a beta.
Create an account at PowerUp Games; after that, sign up for Crimecraft and they'll send you the download. Beta starts today.
If you'd like to know more about the game first, Destructoid had a preview in January.

Sounds interesting, and graphics look decent, but I'm curious - does anyone know how the aiming functionality works in third person? Is it a reticule-type thing that you do with the mouse, kind of like TCOS?

I went there and registered...it's not an open beta, but a closed one. So you register and have to wait for an invite.
Yes I thought the OP sounded kind of off because on the 12th what they said was....
"The first wave of our accepted beta testers have been contacted today! Check your email (and spam folder) to make sure if you're among the lucky few, your notification didn't get buried.
This round was pretty selective so don't be discouraged if you don't have an invite yet. We'll be sending out oodles more in the coming weeks!"
A few days back I saw another post about a beta that said the same thing (just sign up and they'll send you a client). That beta was in closed beta still as well and not open etc Just something I've noticed this week

2) Login/Create an Account
3) Select the CrimeCraft Project from the list
4) Sign NDA and other docs
5) Download from FTP
6) Go slay

yeah wtf....why would it take 24 hours to get to you, and they tell you that you only have 3 days to DL it lolz.....
doesnt seem like this game fits in with the other Christian games.....

I was under the impression that it started on the 15th and not today.
The game is in invite nly, nda closed beta. who ever this guy is, hes not from vogster.
The game isnt open yet, and the servers arent up. You cant mearly download the client and get in you have to get an invite to the beta.

Either way, I'm not sure if i want to spend my time in OB building my character now, since the Crimecraft team isn't even sure whether or not they will go f2p or p2p. I'd rather not have to quit this game after spending so much time on it...

I didn't find this method succesfull. Haven't received an email with download instructions so far. And its been about 30 hours now.
That doesn't make much sense. Play it til it's no more fun and then throw it out when it isn't.

I signed up with the official CrimeCraft website. That PowerUp website, just didn't look kosher to me.
When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there!
Back to tell you guys that the powerup actually did work out in the end for me. Just took me a couple of days before i got the actual download instructions.

this game looks interesting and fun to play.
Actually, they are going p2p, they have already said as much...you can pre-order the game at best-buy exclusively, and if you do, you get 2 free months of game time.
pffft .. just use fasle info like i did ... name john fisher ... doug johnson .. take yer pick .. used a dress down the road its apts .. i didnt use a number ...just randomly put in info ... worked for me .. i actully got 2 accounts 1 i gave to a buddy
