Which servers are more populated? I want to play this game, but don't want to end up on the wrong side where the servers are dead.

Servers aren't dead on either side of the game, if you're Euro then you playing on the US servers would make no sense unless you play on hours that are "abnormal" for EU players. If you're US then you shouldn't play on the Euro servers...
