as far as making it much easier to level, and being able to solo quest all the way to the endgame. since it seems a patch went in where quests are worth double the exp they were before.

great another game where people don't know how to play as a group.

Yay chalk up another win for the lazy casual gamers! because apparently one wow game isn't enough.

That doesnt change the fact that one of the best parts of the game is the Epic/Storyline quest series which starting with level 18 , cant be done alone , even if you stand on your head and clap.

From my small game time played on the Chinese beta, I can see exactly the WoW influence...but who's to blame? That is where the current market is at. There are very few MMOs on the horizon that will not be *WoWified*.

MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.

Your misunderstanding of what is, is not true. In no way is this MMO WOWifed as you put it, yes it caters to both group and solo play styles.  Early in levels you can solo most of the quests, but after a certain point  the grind starts to slow down your progress a bit, at higher levels you level faster in groups than you do solo.

This MMO is marketed like WOW to the mass market and has bits for PvE and PvP all in the same content. It is in no way heavily instanced like WOW is nor is it a heavy asian grind like L2. Before you trash the MMO at least play it beforehand.

OMG, they made a game with mass appeal and a high fun factor! How dare they!

    Where's the crushing tedium?

    Where's the horrendous travel times?

Don't they realize that, with a few key changes to appease the malcontent EQ flagellates,  instead of having 150 or so servers full of players they could be stealing that hardcore market share from Vanguard?

Geez... why couldn't they just make another mindless Korean grindfest that all the REAL MMO gamers could enjoy?

This headline makes me want to puke. 1) As someone said, who cares. While I have no idea if this true it wont change the fact that it's fun. 2) Making a game easier to level has nothing to do with WoW, get real.

Teaming should be encouraged, not imposed. If you can level to the cap by soloing, all the more power to them. Not everyone has three hours daily to kill- er dedicate to a game.

Remember, it has to be fun to be a game. Grinding is a bedroom activity, and the point is definitely not to do my wife as fast as possible.

Nothing wrong with being WoWified tho.. it has great easy to use user interface and from what I've seen it has great cutscenes and storyline. Sign me up!

I played the chinese version, and they have an aweosme way of presenting the story.

WoWified or not, ths game is the first asian game with the potential to rival WoW,  Most asian games get instantly disregarded for being too much of a grindfest, but their mechanics are usually far better then western games, but most people wont get past the grind, this game has cut back the grind, so for the first time in a long time western gamers may actually apprecieate a good korean game.

To the op: The key thing is, do gamers enjoy themselves when in game.  If they have a great time, who cares if its WoWifed or EQifed.

DF does try not to look like WoW, does that automatically make it fun?

VG sworn to bring back EQ xp lost, corpse run and huge xp grinder.  That makes it fun?

Stop looking at WoW if you do not like WoW.  Play Aion or whatever game as they are.  If you like WoW, more fun for you with alternate WoWifed games.  Either way, WoW SHOULD NOT stop you from enjoying Aion as it is, unless you cannot stop thinking about WoW when playing Aion.

I think that there's more than the simple "Oh my God this game has been wowified".NC soft has brought their game up to the WoW standard without being a WoW clone. Most people who has been in Korean and Chinese beta were/are impressed with the game. The world is beautiful and is scalable on most machines, the game is fun according to many.

Yes,they made a game with mass appeal and don`t forget that end game is about RvR,so where's the problem?

Can't wait to see the OP solo the elite mobs.

Also can't wait see him get rolled up by the other faction when he is soloing the abyss.

And so it begin's with the tired & boring "WOW clone"  threads...These types of threads never die.

Last time I checked, there wasn't a single MMO on the market that forced you to solo, not even once.

With PvE raiding, it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fawning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression, anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privilege. - Neanderthal

Yep, a lot of the game is 'WoWified'. Pretty easy quests, easy to use UI, good control over your character, polish, smoothness of gameplay etc.

I think they knew which parts to WoWify tbh. No instanced bgs and arenas for example.

    I agree...

you gave me a thought tho..

I think "in-faction" Arenas (that net nothing but bragger rights, or for practice) would be kinda cool...

kinda like WoW STV or Outlands non-instanced ones.

Probably wouldn't work for Aion, but eh... just a thought.

There's already an 'arena' in the main cities. Well Elyos have one anyway. But it's always empty everytime I go there so I have no idea what usually happens inside lol. You can either watch from the stands or enter the arena, which flags you for pvp. I think it might be for group vs group practice and tournaments.

Anyway hope they implement some features to spice things up in there, it could be fun. It's empty most of the times.

What a ridiculous thing to complain about. "Oh waaaah, my quests are giving me too much exp!" Wtf? If they don't give enough then we just hear "This game is a lame grindfest they need to add more quests and make them give more exp so I don't have to play the game this much!" If you don't like the game, no ones forcing you to play it. And if you do play it, there's no one forcing you to party / quest / grind / craft / move / speak / anything. So STFU and stop wasting our time.

I havne't played this game so no comment as to how easy it is to play or level. I took offense to your assertion about lazy casual gamers.

    1) Casual gamers are where the money is. You do realize it's about making money?

    2) Most people are not looking to spend their entire life in a GAME

    3) Most good MMO are capible of providing content for both casual and fantical players.

So please no more ranting from the MMO shutins. :P

Making you mindlessly grind for months for 1 level will not make you play better in a group. Having quests and dungeons that require you to work as a team will.

Only if this would be the biggest issue.

What i'm concerned here is Aion's developer NCSoft. First NCSoft game i played was Lineage II, witch is a great game but where can i start with my complains....

1.bots are alowed (they only ban few acc but never saw farmes big trains being banned), there are even payed bot programs for 5 bucks/month witch they say are banstick  protected.

    2. never seen so many imbalanced classes in a game like Lineage II - you can choose few classes/races for a decent play and for a real chance in PvP.

    3. gamer support = nula, "0", big nothing - only few automatic answers all ending with "Thank you for playing Lineage"

Since than i stopped trusting and playing NCSoft games. Their only big succes in my opinion is Guildwars, few month after Guildwars was released Blizzard - WoW adopted arenas and PvP gear.

Auto Assault - you need max 2 hours of play after a decisive DELETE --->servers stopped last year if im not mistaking

Tabula Rasa - not even tried to play, but as i expected failed also ( Lineage II with future weapons concluded from screenshots and storyline, a big change was the option for no pokemons faces for characters) --->servers stopped this february

I wish you best luck with NCSoft...i know i wount even play a free trial.
