I started reading this and felt bad for the guy.

Then, I started feeling worse with all the trolling replies from the target audience...

Good read, but the guy messed up by paying three months in advance.  Why would anyone do that, especially for an $OE game?!

I hate to say it but "target audience" comes to mind when I read some of the replies.

I think I can safely say that if I ever got the chance to even play the game for free, I wouldn't come back.  Not only because the NGE destroyed SWG, but because the kind of people who post in the forums play the game.  A bunch of venomous snakes with nothing better to do than to get on the forums and bash any sane, reasonable person down.  Look at the way they treat Labrat, for instance, nothing but personal attacks on him or her.  A bunch of dumb kids (and if they aren't all kids well they sure damn act like it) who have no respect for people with opinions other than theirs.

If you want a reason to never touch NGE (because that crap is not SWG) just look at the forums, cover your eyes and choose a thread.  I can pretty much guarantee flames are in it and will disgust most normal people.

I just love all the "its no big deal replies" and the number of times people use the term "grind" in reference to the gameplay from 40-90.

The one that really make me /faceplam was the person who said "what do you expect to do when you started playing again, jump right into pvp?".  Maybe I'm crazy, but it sounded like that was exactly what they wanted to do and grinding 50 levels of pve content was not on their radar.

Lucky for him though, he bought 90 days of gameplay so he has plenty of time to do the 1 level cap of mission terminals per day.

LOL...he hadn't even gotten to the point of realizing he will be needing a gazillion rows of buffs.

What is the most entertaining about the OBoard posters, is even though that is their response to every new or returning player that posts anything negative about the game, every time there is a thread asking why they play the game, the majority of the responses indicate very few people actually like the game.  Most only play the game because it has some minor tangential connection to Star Wars, or that they have played for so long they can't see themselves not playing it.

I noticed the samething.  It just reinforces to me that but for it being Star Wars it would be pushing up daisys along time ago.

The subscription paying trolls that frequent the SWG O-board rarely misses an opportunity to make the O-board GPD forum as toxic and hateful as possbile. They really do 'eat their own' over there.  To think there are a few that actually believe the negative views of SWG/NGE expressed here (and other sites) chases off potential or returning players - one needn't go any further than the O-boards to realize otherwise.

I have observed that this rule generally applies to posters registered to the oboards in or after 2006. It is unlikely that someone registered in 2003 or 2004 engages in these hateful acts.

You're right about that, ALOT of 2006-2008 registered posters on the oboards gets nasty in negative topic threads.
