anybody else having a problem with bots?
I really love this game, but man i am finding zones that are totally unplayable because of the amount of bots. Today i went to a new area and was happy to find about 10 quest. So i went out to do some and i swear there was 100+ bots in this area, It was the most unplayable zone i have ever seen in a MMO in my life.
I have played MMO's since 99 and have played damn near all of them, and this is the most bots in a game i have ever seen. maybe its just the server im on or somthing i dont know. but its really out of hand, does this game come with a free bot download when you purchase it or somthing??
I hope to god the N/A version is better, but i know better it will be just as swamped with bots. Does anybody have a idea if the makers even care about bots and plan to do somthing about them?

They have been banning accounts but as everyone knows it doesnt take those guys long to start up another account,The thing you have to keep in mind is you are playing with the guys from China,I am not saying there wont be any bots in the NA/EU release but there will for sure be a hell of alot less.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

there is not retail fee for chinese aion thats why banned bots come again

The Chinese SDO company only ban bots' Character instead the account, because they want to be a "good people" on both side(botter and normal player) and earn their money. And you probably saw/heard they ban lot of characters but that just "character", it's not account FYI and thats only do it for the "Show".
I have the same problem as you, absolutely love the game everything feels just right but the bots are just too many. I had quests of hunt 5 mobX that took me more than 1 hour to do because there was no mobX around and if one spawned it was a swarm of bots rushing for the kill (8 levels above me). Now I'm grinding a bit trying to slow down and maybe the bots will outlevel me and stop being a pain until higher levels.
People. Bots suck. No doubt about that but seriously just move somewhere else. No one is forcing you to kill mob X at that moment specifically. Go somewhere else. Simple as that.
How are you defining bots for purposes of this discussion? From the way things sound, it's not what I'm used to thinking of as bots. What I'm getting out of the discussion so far is that certain areas seem to be overpopulated (not unusual for a new game), and some characters who are higher level than what some of the posters think is appropriate for the area are killing mobs the posters want to kill. I'm having trouble making the bot connection.
I dont know what server your playing on and what region but on the server and region im playing on,I havent seen a single bot as of yet,also there are alot of EU players around
Are you playing a fantasy based MMO produced by NCSoft?
Then you will have bots, regardless where its eventually released.
But then again, its not really just here, bots seem to be a fact of life in most games these days.

SDO, the company that runs aion in China is a little more leaniant when it comes to bot control. Korea is a little more forceful. Lets hope NCwest will be heavy handed when it comes to bot control for NA/EU client.
I have seen a few in the pve area's, none in the heavy PvPvE area's.
