Nah, the True Belivers drank the Kool Aid... The rest are now waiting for the Next Big Thing. Once Morbid Online launches, I suspect they will go back to looking for the next , One True Gankfest. Some people are just like that <shrug>

Oh I am a troll because why? Read the title of this post buddy. Who knows if its a great MMO. Claiming its a great MMO is not interest. No one has played it outside of the company. Ya it sounds great. However DF sounded just as good, and it would have been great if AV didnt drop the ball.

All you fanboys jump the gun way to early. Your the ones that set the game up for failure. Your the ones who brings "trolls" to your board by making outrageous claims. Your the ones with the  cultish arrogance  that keeps the "trolls" in your board.

You are a troll because you're more extreme in your views than the fanboys here. You're calling everyone out in a sweeping fashion and straight out tell them that they're dumb to have all this "blind faith", despite most of us clearly just being generally interested in the game.

Then you went on and compared the game to Darkfall which is classic trolling. To be honest, the only one with any sort of "cultish arrogance" on display here is yourself. Maybe you need to step back and exhale a few times before you make any more future posts.

Maybe poor release after poor release after poor release has soured my view on all new MMO's. I do not trust game Devs anymore or game companys. Its not just DF. Pick any recent MMO  of you likeing and I can probably tell you features that were promised at launch but broke or just flat mising. I just fail to see how a game is great when its not even in beta and no one has played it.

Could you please make your text color dark grey. It's hurting my eyes with its glare at the moment. mmkay.

Then more of the carebears need to play, and let developers like SV know that open world sandboxes are profitable and not just the domain of the neanderthal red=dead crowd.  I can't stand PVP, but I plan on moving my guild to Mortal because of the crafting, the exploration, and the roleplaying possibilities.  The chance to have a world instead of a game is worth being Pk'd a few times.

Hell, I gave Darkfall a shot for the very same reasons, but the crafting was a bad joke, and there was literally nothing to do but join in on the great ganking circle jerk.

Mortal seems to have a lot more going for it, so don't let the open pvp scare you away.

There is way more to do in DFO and MO than just ganking, but thats going to be most people's first impression of both games because when they join in on the "fun" thats what will happen to them. If you don't like PvP then play Mabinogi, its a F2P PvE sandbox game.

Pass. I've dealt for years and years and years with gankers and griefers on various games. I've no patience or tolerance left for such games. If they have a PvE server type I'd be happy to give it a try. Other wise, I have better things to do with my money and time. As I suspect will most of the rest of my CareBear brothers and sisters.

Yeah, I'm sure most of you will pass, which is why games with true potential like this one rarely get made.  Its a shame, but totally expected.

    Cheers.

Sorry mate, but there's nothing to do in Darkfall other than gank.  Unless you count macro-ing your crafter/harvestor as something to do.

Some people like the game, that's great, I'm not passing judgment, but it isn't a sandbox.  Its an FPS with a poorly designed skill system tacked on top of it.

UO is a sandbox, EVE is a sandbox, SWG was a sandbox.  Sandbox equals deep/dedicated crafting, meaningful exploration, roleplay tools, etc.  Your snide comment about playing Mabinogi aside, DF is a one-trick pony, and I'm hopeful that MO will not fall into that trap.

I PVP'd and got ganked many a time in Darkfall but it didn't stop me from playing it for a solid two months.  What stopped me was the utter lack of anything compelling to do other than beat on my fellow players.  I can do that, and have done it, in every FPS ever created.  Really not interested in paying $15 a month for such limited play options.

True potential for what? Ganking and griefing? The Dev's are the ones who have decided to make it an open PvP, full loot gankfest. Its too bad, as it looks like they have put a HUGE amount of time, talent and money into its development.  But it would hardly be the first such game to niche itself from the start. To each their own.

If you want to play only a medieval gankfest game, go look at projectoffset, as it might be the game for you.

I don't get it, why everyone who sees ffa open pvp with full loot as a gankfest game. As if X k players on server had nothing better to do than killing newbz over and over.

Question is pretty simple, but answer may not be so simple.

Is there something better to do in ffa pvp games than ganking and griefing ?
Well, if there wouldn't be anything else to do, such game couldn't be called RPG. And I don't mean playing a role of a ganker, cause it would be the only role to choose, and play.

Everything depends on available game content. And it seems that there will be enough things to do by the release of MO, than mustering a bunch of PKers, and beat the shit outta newbz all the time.
Let's not forget (as I assume that it's going to be player skill based game, not only a character based) that getting rid of roaming griefers can't be hard (I just don't feel the need to get into available solutions). Unless as mentioned earlier, 3/4 of server population plays only to kill 24/7.

Did you do any of the quest? The game actually has some intresting questing that leads to things which actually lowers the grind. Of course, most don't do that. And yea, the crafting and harvesting system is drull, but functional and I don't really see it as any different than most crafting system in MMOs

Most themeparkers don't get it. They can't understand that no epic raid boss loot makes losing your shinys not so bad, especially since everything can be crafted. Don't worry, they'll have fun on their PvP lite games and we'll have fun with games like DFO, MO, FE, ER, etc

I don't even consider themeparkers. Those guys stay away from any game, which title mentions sandbox. The worse, mentions ffa pvp and full loot. I was referring to guys which want to try a sandbox game being developed around pvp aspect. I may have fun playing such game, although I am kind of afraid of it. Sounds pretty weird. But I want other players to face consequences of their choices. Is that too much ?
