My Mom has been telling me to do that. I've been on four interviews and haven't gotten any of the jobs in the last couple months. Maybe I should start sending thank you letters.
I think my main problem is the market is bad now, and also I'm trying to slightly change careers. The last interview I went to the guy told me he received 200 applications. Two years ago for the same position he only received 20.
Send a thank you letter. With the job market the way it is now, you need to stand out of the crowd or you aren't going to get a job. Look up a good form / template on the net and make sure you discuss something you felt went well in the interview. Make sure you also profess your excitement over coming to work for the company. It doesn't have to be cheesy or long, just good enough to make your name stand out among the applicants.
I had an interview at the Olive Garden... I "nailed it" too. Had four interviews, totaled about two hours in time; two of my friends work there and are well liked by the managers, all that fun stuff. Didn't get the fucking call. What an anticlimactic waste of time.

Keep trying. It is good to see you are trying to get in the mainstream and contribute to society. Keep plugging along. You will get a job eventually.
