    it isn't hard to believe much of any stupid decision coming from them?

    Seriously, what a retarded company they are.  Isn't it obvious that pre-luclin EQ was the best MMORPG ever made?  And what, they can't even fucking replicate it in some new MMO, I can't believe how stupid SOE is.  Seriously, what kind of retards run that company, to not notice something so fucking obvious.
    All they do is push garbage expansions out every few months, and then they make it so everyone has to buy their useless expansions by putting in features that should have always been in the game.  Like, when they released LOY, they released an in-game map feature.  Wow, every game fucking has that now, and they force that shit on everyone because their UI sucked to begin with.
    Would I play EQ1 again? Even with old servers? I don't really know.  I played a PvP server and it would probably be dead in this old world EQ.  I mean, all the EQ players were fucking carebears hiding on blue servers farming the same shit all day.  
    In conclusion, make EQ3, and make it hardcore & PvP only.  People are sick of the shit carebear games for retard players.

    This varies per person. I remember back in the day how awesome EQ1 was. I also remember I had nearly unlimited amounts of play time, which is why I was able to level/farm/raid. A death in the game resulted in a few hours of getting the exp back, to someone with loads of time this is a shrug on the shoulders. Now a days, I would have to say no. I could never enjoy an old school EQ server. People with limited time usually hated the game. Keyword being "usually".

    The people who created pre luclin EQ are no longer at SOE.

    You can't go back because classic EQ exists only in rosy memories.    Reality wouldn't be the same.

    I played EQ for quite a while since its beta. It was revolutionary then. But it is quite antiquated now and i won't play it now if my life depends on it.

     I have no way to confirm this, I just remember reading it on the web.  But, I was under the impression that much of the talent behind the original EQ was picked up by Blizzard.

    Only way I would really entertain playing again is with a new graphics engine... then even if they did a new server all the leeties would just bum rush through everything again anyway.

     

    If anything I'd rather they make another everquest title that was more like the original (than eq2) but I'd almost want them to go backwards in the timeline... not forward farther or in between.

    Pre luclin everquest was best MMO ever made. I am a casual player looking for hardcore game but there is none.

    Even though the initial launch was rough I would love to go back to early Anarchy Online, hehe.  Have so many fun memories of that game when it was very first out, ahhhh.  So hard to recapture the magic.

    only Everquest I'd play now is a new Everquest. Everquest is too dated and Everquest 2 is just bad.

    Invalid over used argument to try to discredit what people enjoy. I guess they should stop remaking/repackaging those classic Final Fantasy games for newer game systems then? Also they definitely should scrap those game board companies Monoply, Risk, Chutes and Ladders, etc. Let's not forget Diablo 1/2 package is still selling on the shelves for not so cheap of a price.

    There is a lot of old games that people seem to play because of "rosy" memories.

     Signed! I miss classic EQ. I wasn't there when EverQuest was first released but I was there for Ruins of Kunark release, Iksars rule all! (had to get my two cents in on that lol), I would love to be there for the actual start of the game for once, though I would really miss playing the Iksar (according to the petition the Ruins of Kunark wouldn't be activated for 6-12 months) but that would be something I would gladly play anyways. Though I don't miss the look of the older models for the troll/oger ladies lol. Anyways thank you to everyone that signs this petition. If a classic server goes up, I will see all of you in game (or not depending on your faction =P)
