Best Healing and PvP MMO? :)

maddi123maddi123 Member Posts: 53

Hi Everybody! I have just quit WoW and I'm looking for a new MMO to play until North America Aion comes out. I tried the Chinese Aion and LOVED it but I found it hard to do anything but quest. :( I would like to find a game like Aion to play if thats possible. But what I really want in a game is the following:

-Great PvP

-Great Healing Class, a class that doesn't die in 2 hits, has a few roots, bubbles, flash heals, etc to keep it alive.

-Good Player Base

If there is any game out there (Or coming) like this, please tell me! Thanks for your time! Maddi

Warhammer Online Shamans get bubbles and fast heals.  While I don't recall them getting a root (they get a knockback spell which also knocks them back) they do have a tactic that triggers when they get hit that increases their run speed which gives them some decent kiting ability.  The Archmage, Rune Priest, and Zealot similarly all have fast heals and bubbles.  The healer classes in the game (at least when I played) are fairly resilient and can be very difficult to take down 1v1.

I recall Shamans in EQ 2 having bubbles (damage absorption spells), flash heals (fast heals), and roots.  I haven't played it since beta (which has been several years) so I could be wrong.  I heard the PvP isn't that great.  Might be worth looking into though.

Haha thanks magnum for defining what those mean. If that's the case then you can try FFXI. While the white mage job is the main healing one, I believe there are others that can heal and do other things.

If I remember correctly, you get a sub job at a certain level where you can be 2 things (Warrior/White mage, white/black mage, etc.) so that might extra appeal for a healing class. Not sure if they have some sort of PvP mechanic, but I've been thinking about going back there myself.

I think FFXI has a pretty steady player base. I heard somewhere that it is one of the largest for an Asian MMO in North America.

May also wanna try Mabinogi. Don't know much about it (just started it myself), but for some reason I find it pretty fun. It's nothing like a traditional Asian MMO, but I thought I might throw it out there because I find it fun.

    Hope that helps

If you consider WoW's arena and to an extent its BG's pvp, then you wont like Warhammer.

    Try Guild Wars.

If you liked defending X-roads (or the Alliance equivelent) from player raids.

    Then give WAR a try.

    Its really that simple.

2nd for Guild Wars, if ya like pvp and IMO best healing class ever then give it a go.

There is no monthly so if ya dont like it your out just the price of the game which is cheep

    The following statement is false
    The previous statement is true

I think Rohan is what your looking for. It's pvp-oriented. The healers in the game has a root skill. The healers also has a magic barrier wherein you wont get damaged until it's depleted and its psche-based which you can increase when you level-up.
