yea, we tossed around the idea of zone controll for a capture method before. people liked the idea, including me, but CRS stonewalled us and refused to give an opinion. so we stilll have table humping today.
CRS has tweaked the cap rules at least 10 times, why would 11 times make a difference?

That's why I'm not talking a tweak. Yeah lowering the timer, putting roofs on the caps so couldn't be nade spammed from depot etc are all just tweaks and didn't help the underlying problem. Caps 10 feet away from spawns. That's why I'm talking a redo. Drop the tables, have area caps, remove ABs that require camping etc. Any CRS annoucement other than that wouldn't intrest me.
Karu403, I can only think the game code just doesn't allow for that type of change easily and they don't have the manpower left (or with free time) for anything major. Pity, area caps with retreating spawns (have to work it out how it works in a freeform world) works super in Red Orchestra for assault maps.
There is the problem of whiney players. A whine if they get spawn into combat (camped), or a whine if they have to run 10 seconds to get into combat (OMG it takes SOOO long to get into combat) heh. The forum discussions on how theywant this huge battlefield, but somehow have instant combat as soon as they spawn in would make me cringe

This is true... I blame the rise of pocket games like BF1942/2142, COD1-5. And such.... or as I used to call them "Quakers". (not because of religous choices, but because the Quake game started that mentallity)
I hate the Unmanned Mobile Spawn (UMS) I hate the insta-army direction the game has turned. But thats some of the devs listening to the fanbois... and not the players.
I can remember some time ago... before the current system was put in when they asked for suggestions on how the game should go... A bunch of players, including myself suggested a TRUE battlefield setup with no ties to towns.. a grid based combat system. Their answer was, this isnt possible because of the engine limitations. Then the code in the AWS over top of the current engine. Now there is a new engine and they straight up refuse to change what has become a server full of micro server action. If I wanted a crap game engine, and bad graphics in a constant MOUT game I would play BF1942. This amoungst other reasons is why I left.
well honestly being camped sucks but what most of the people do is try to go out of the building another way, throw smoke grenades, something. . . anything. Just don't run into the same direction or keep doign the same thing expecting different results.
For anyone that has never tried it or is about to try it keep in mind if you want a game where the enemy is shown on a radar or you can see thier names and if you are one of the "jumpers" this game is not for you. You have to use the terrain, the obsticles and camoflauge in order to get into a good firing position and take out your enemy. you just simply can not run in and be a hero, you haev to learn to work together and use all te facets of war. . . .and there is this thing called skill, stick with the game and you will find your skill.
Graphics, dopn't expect kick arse graphics, your computer has to render all the objects, from teh fighters, the bombers, the tanks, the infantry, the anti tank guns, the trucks, all the trees, bushes, hills, buildings and it has to keep track of every shot fired, every bomb dropped etc and figure out if you hit the target. Unless you have acomputer on loan from NASA lower your graphics, or lower your expectations. the screen shots shown are bumped up on a few of them as far as the graphics levels, but they are pretty good graphics considering what your computer is doing.
I type extemporaneously and don't spell check. My english papers earn A-s but then again, this isn't English, this is forum speak. Right now I have my glasses on and really can't see the print. When I have my contacts in, I have to have my reading glasses on, so on occasions you will see correct spelling, grammar, syntax and logic in my posts. Sometimes you will see mus, your for you, there for their. If the judgment of this forum concerning my spelling,, syntax, and grammar were of consequence then I might be making some effort to maintain my school/work standards.
Us goot ole bois just chatter and titter stuff real goot.
Typical bugs/bad design being sold as features. Its not a feature, its a sypmtom of a broken capture mechanic that no one likes and CRS is clueless how to fix. Why dont any other shoooters have spawn camping to the extent this game does? Its broken, when you spend hours playing and see no body then finally find a battle and its a spawn camp. And you know what? Thats the only real time its etertaining to play because theres' actually people too shoot at, well mostly tanks, but its worth dieing 1000 times trting to get out of a spawn to take a shot at an enemy you havent seen for hours. Then people complain that youre wasting supply, no im wasting my time playing this broekn game that makes no gameplay sense.
No then you are just a gigantic noob.
People who spawn into camps or walk around without finding action are just noobs.
If you spend 5 minutes to find out what the icons on the map mean(there are loads of manuals on this) you will be able to spawn at a town where there is lots of action. Then you can just LISTEN for enemy fire or watch the marks on the map or look where the enemy spawnpoint is or ask on the target channel.
Also if you get camped you just spawn a tank/plane/truck in a brigade next to the town, you spend 4 minutes driving it to the town that is camped and you totally wtfpwn the attackers by flanking them.
lag and spawn camping are regulars here. wether it is a "legal" ab camp or a looser camping a spawn point..it gets old. They need to rethink on what it takes to capture a town. Not "who has the fastest tanks and more tanks to drive into the ab and just get the most kills"....then write a snooty aar about it saying how many idiots they killed. not thought process there at all.

Spawn camping means your position is overrun and you should spawn elsewhere. Lag is your own problem, and you should deal with that yourself. I never have problems with lag, and i've been playing for a good while. You sound like a whiney brat who got his ass handed to him and can't figure out how to deal with the loss. Get over it and move on, it's the way of the world.
No, I believe the game and its managers did a terrible job on several occasions and as a former paying customer I am telling people about it via these forums. Just as I would do if a friend or myself was posioned at Burger King. I would tell people about it.
Now go back to CRS and get 1.30 done already for those that are still around. Is this DOC????
The way of the world is not horrible customer service and tongue lashings in the "support" forums when questions come up about a game we all pay good money to play. when CRS seems to ignore obvious issues and then acts like pr icks to you for asking the questions.....screw that.

This reiterate post of yours is sort of cute. Having hard time when people don't agree with your bitterness? Even cuter.
Calling everone "Doc" is kind of odd, but wont help your cause. I don't think CRS even checks in to this forum. The have a full time developing their game. And when they get some spare time do they discuss various topics in the game forums with the players.

No it falls under the, "allied side is easymode" part.

So much crap, so little quality.
