    Helllllllllll Noooo

EQ1 even looks better than it let alone AOC

From what I see is runescape has shadows where is other two games to the right have no shadows.

I also see that two games to the right have many premade textures/sprites, where in first screen shot it is not noticeable/rendered.

Also age of conan background is 2d image. Runescape has no background.

Overall I would want to play using age of conan models in runescape environment.

If you don't see shadows in Age of Conan you must be blind.

Runescape might have its pros, but quit trying to push the idea of awesome graphics, please. Trying to compare it with most games in terms of graphics is laughable at best.

It is laughable, but Runescape actually markets itself that way (Runescape 'High Definition' - lol) Eternum has deliberately gone for a low-res approach because, quite sensibly, anyone who thinks they are gonna be running Crysis in the web within the next 10 years is kidding themselves.

Are these people defending RS's engine trolling or what? Runescape has better graphics because it has shadows? Because it doesn't use bespoke textures? It's better than AOC?

    Back to the discussion..

Well seeing that i cant complete my first quest of killing 5 bats, even after ive killed atleast 20, and that moving around is horrible in eternum online... im pretty sure Runescape wins.

Seriously.. how do people enjoy a game in which you can barily move? Or maybe its just Firefox.. and GC?

HAHAHAHAH!!... HAHAHHAHAHA!!! ROFLMAO!!! Did this guy seriously try to compare the graphics updates to the graphics of  AoC?!!!  You can't even see the players faces on runescape unless you are in a NPC chat screen. And even then the detail is deplorable. This has to be a joke .. seriously.

Not a joke... are you sure you've seen the latest graphical updates to RS and aren't just thinking of the old classic gfx? Runescapes graphics are now detailed and atmospheric, more realistic than WoW's cartooniness and as dark and moody as the art direction in AoC, possibly WAR too although that looks like it may be taking some of WoW's cartoony styling.

is this guy serious lol? i think the name slightly gives away the runescape fanboy idea but runefan101 really are u serious???

runescape is a joke in the mmorpg market

-While i see the humor in this guys post about runescape having the best graphics on the market, i dont agree with you about Runescape being a joke on the market...

Yes it's mostly played by kids...

    yes its bad graphics...

yes its frustrating to click your way around...

But if you look at it from Jagex's perspective, they make LOTS of money my friend... and money is no joke...

Depends what you're comparing. Runescape and AOC? Shit graphics, shit gameplay - good graphics crap gameplay. Runescape and Eternum Online? Shit graphics, shit gameplay - Shit graphics, good gameplay.

You're not gonna get anywhere comparing graphics, especially for web games. You're just gonna end up looking a fool.

I can. I find it hilarious that a thread which initially started as a comparison between the technical approach two games use at delivering their content has turned into a sole comparison about graphics.

Are MMO players really that shallow? Come on, guys, Runescape obviously has some good traits as it has a HUGE playerbase and Eternum obviously does because people are raving about it. AOC? Well...

I think this was due to a couple of people making ridiculous claims that Runescape has better graphics than AOC more than anything.

Okay I'll concede that... the RS fanboys do make a big deal out of its graphics.

On another note I'm surprised Eternum doesn't seem to have a big Korean fanbase.

Like I said, I'd play age of conan models in runescape world because runescape world is not instanced, large and has things to do

While runescape is technically not instanced, a vast portion of the game can only be accessed after completing certain quests/tasks, all of which require a large amount of profession grinding to complete. As it stands, Runescape's world is not very open, whereas in Eternum Online you can go whereever you want provided the mobs don't kill you.

While I am no fan of instancing, I feel this is actually WORSE than instancing.

Take post-PoP EQ for example and the amount of unlocking required to reach each zone. Compare it to pre-PoP where the only limit to where you could travel was where you could go without being killed.

Instancing opens up content to players, key-grinding and unlocking restricts it.

I don't think RS does either, Koreans tend to like their hack n slash potion spamming games. RS is too much of a long-winded sandbox and Eternum Online is basically WoW in a browser.

WoW is actually massive in Korea

Which bit of it? That Runescape isn't instanced or that Runescape is an open, unlocked world like Eternum Online. I'll concede that maybe RS does have some instancing (castle wars maybe) but most of the landmass is locked to begin with. For an example, just take what is required to reach Miscellania:

Type name, password in etc, click race, click class. Couldn't really be much simpler imo.

Three are no submit buttons when I view the page in IE 7.  But now the game will not load in either browswer.
