 There is a new magazine out called " Mass Appeal".

The current issue at your local major newstand has a NICE article inside interviewing Gary Gygax. The start of Dungeons and Dragons, his years growing up, and much more. It is on page 48.

It is the current issue, on the magazine cover is a guy dressed up like a Stormtrooper standing in front of his house. (It's part of another article about a guy who makes Star Wars costumes.) There are also other intresting articles on cars (a NICE BMW), and a hodgepodge of popular world culture, with interviews with many other different people.

    Interesting indeed. Would like to see what is in that interview. Did you know that Gary Gygax is working closely with the developers of "Dark and Light" to create exclusive content, quests, and live story events for their upcoming game? Not even D&DO can make that claim! image

    hmm the maker(or atleast the famouse one) is makeing the story and quests for DnL isnt that interesting....

    sorry just think everyone should realize how great dnl will be :P

    Wait a minute. . . How can Gygax be working with DnL when he has his OWN game, Lejendary Adventure, to worry about?

    And while I've RP'd for years and give Gygax his due with D&D, nothing he's put out on his own has come anywhere close to what he originally created. I don't know, I've always felt he was a little overrated. To be honest, if an old PnP RPG designer was going to work on an MMO I'd rather see Mark Miller bring the Traveller series online.

    Mass Appeal

    Is it about Mass culture, or Massive as in MMORPG?  Both would be interesting.

    There was a Massive Multiplayer magazine out last year, but I think it went under.  I remember it cost about $18 Canadian, which is why I only bought the one issue.  Mass Appeal could fill that gap, though it would be hard for a magazine to compete with the internet as far as MMORPG news in concerned.

    *shrugs* You can read the official press release though. Alchemic Dream is in charge of community affairs, live story events and quests for the game Dark and Light; you can even read the interview with the lead game designer for Dark and Light, Stephane Quilichini, where it is confirmed that Gary Gygax is working with them to provide said events and materials.

    The info on Lejendary Adventures has not been updated in a year, so I wouldnt wait for that one.

    As Zelph correctly pointed out, Gary Gygax one of the founders of D&D will be involved in Dark and Light! Now for some reason I find that pretty cool! image

     The issue came out just now at the start of December so it should stay on newstands for a while. Some stores that have it are:

     - Duane Reade (mega pharmacy chain in the Northeastern USA)

     - any major newstand.

     It might not be in the computer magazine section. Check the section with the women's magazines. In fact, it seems like retailers have no idea what section to put it in LOL. Best to check every section. The cover is easy to recignize since it has this Stormtrooper standing in front of a suburban house.
