Wanted to make a thread to talk about these two E3 conferences. Thoughts? Opinions? I'm hyped about Metroid The Other M myself.
Yeah that looks pretty cool and so does the mario line up. Imo if they had announced a new Zelda wii game I think they could have topped MS but for now they are number 1.
Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

I said the same thing. I waited too long before I started watching the Sony conference because I usually just skim through the psp stuff so I just saw the FFXIV footage.
I always wished I had gotten in on FFXI early, because I love the game, but hate playing catch up. If it's of the same calibur of FFXI I'll be staying there for a long time.
Nintendo's press conference was just filled too many numbers and Nintendo's design philosophy. That wouldn't be so much of a problem if it wasn't for the fact we have been hearing the same speech for 3 years now. Yes Iwata, Nintedo appeals to a broader audience, we get it.
The Wii's announcement were .."meh". New Super Mario Bros Wii looks to be a "fun" game, but thats just what it is. It's "fun", it's not a big epic Nintendo title like Zelda or Mario Galaxy. Mario Galaxy 2 sounds great and made me smile for a bit. I always wondered where you go after you have gone to space, how do you trump that? It seems Nintendo doesn't know either. Not that I mind, Galaxy 1 was a really, really good game.
I woukld have been excited about a new Metroid game, if it wasn't for the trailer showed nothing but trash. I didn't like the graphic look of the game and didn't find anything appealing about it.
The handheld gained some more attention, especialy Golden Sun DS was a great announcement.
The rest of the show was casual games which don't appeal to me.
Sony was pretty much the same thing. New gameplay footage of Uncharted 2, MAG, God of War 3 and Assassins Creed 2 was great, but they were all already announced and we knew they were comming.
the PSP lineup seems solid enough, especialy Metal Gear was nice, but why does this need to be on the PSP? It would have been so much better on a home console.
The new game announcements for PS3 were downright "Meh". The new Rockstar IP doesn't interest me as much as I never liked Rockstar games, the racing game doesn't sound exciting. LBP was great because making a platform level is fun. Platforming is all about creative levels. With a racing game, it's just not the same. Racing games are more about the race and competition then the actual levels.
Final Fantasy XIV is a no go for me. It's obvious this will be a PC game that is ported to the Playstation 3, and console ports of PC mmorpg's have always been mediocre. I doubt this one will be much better.

Watching the Sony one now and the PSP Go looks cool.

Think i'm mostly excited about the Assassins Creed 2 game.
Yeah i've been leaning towards a PSP, perhaps i'll wait for that Go one to come out.

New Metal Gear one does it for me.
?
Cant wait for GoW 3.
Nintendo's conference sucked. Metroid: Other M, Galaxy 2, and Golden Sun DS were the only good parts.
Sony's made me want to buy a PS3.
Why does square enix hate us so much?

Why does square enix hate us so much?
I dunno actually, and i wasn't really that excited lol just was messing around.
Anyways i got burnt out on FF long time ago, havn't played one since FF8.
I doubt a new FF online game will be geared towards western MMO tastes imo.

So I'm guessing FFXIV=Rapture?
I saw the MS conference partly, since I was busy and it was just meh.
Would anyone care to link me a Sony conference?
Or is this one in 30 minutes?
I'm a bit mixed about both press conferences.

Should have the Sony press-conference cached soon, since I asked myself.
The Last Guardian was beautiful.
That's the only word I know to describe it. SotC was an amazing game, this should be as well.
