Okay, I know Aion Beta isn't open until friday, but after nearly 24 hrs, the download finally finished and I've got a big button crying out to be pushed. I get a splash screen and then an error window Gameguard Error 114, is this a serious issue I've got going here or is this because the servers aren't up and ready just yet. Please someone with a little insight, help me out here.

I hate gameguard it sucks....... But just replace the Lineage with Aion and I think it should work. I tried to play Aion with windows 7 and it was a no go then. But I was excited about this game but then I hear Aion has really small zones and is channeled like AoC was..... Im not a big fan of those things.
Most of the issues that we have seen attributed to this error message have been due to a firewall. If you are receiving this error message, we suggest trying the following steps.
First, try disabling any and all firewalls that you have running on your machine to see if this alleviates the issue.
If it does not, you'll need to adjust your firewall exceptions to allow exceptions for these files: LineageII.exe, L2.exe, GameGuard.Des and GameMon. Des. Specific instructions for this can typically be found on the respective manufacturers' websites. The process will vary by manufacturer. The default locations for each file are as follows:
"C:Program FilesLineage IILineageII.exe"
"C:Program FilesLineage IIsysteml2.exe"
"C:Program FilesLineage IIsystemGameGuard.des"
"C:Program FilesLineage IIsystemGameGuardGameMon.des"
If you are still receiving this error message after trying these steps, you should make sure that you have no third party applications attached to the Lineage II program.
Hmm, A friend had the same problem with TCoS. Gameguard do have some issues, can you post a diag.exe on your computer?
Gameguard is a third party program that is suppose to prevent cheating, there is a lot of old threads here about it.
Wheter or not if it prevents cheating, hackers will always find a way to cheat. I like playing Rakion, and it also uses gameguard, but when you play you will always find cheaters. The most recent one I saw was a ninja shooting fireballs in the air.
Ouch.. disabling my firewall.. Thanks for your help everyone. ^^ I was just curious about Aion, so if it's going to take risk my 'baby' by opening up something like my firewall, I'd just as soon uninstall and wait for the reviews to come out. Thanks again for your prompt response.
Yeah im not a big fan of that either but if you just make exeptions on the firewall it might work as well. Its just a quick easy way to see if your firewall is whats causing the problem.
Well I haven't deleted it yet, but if I have to play it with my computer wide open, I can assure you no game is worth that, I just decided to put it off for a few days and play with my firewall now and then before friday. ^^
There's a thread open on how to fix the GG error, same thing happens in Windows 7. Happened both on my Vista ultimate 64 and my Win 7 64, and this fixed it for me when I started playing Aion last month.

Yeah cause someone might hack you rofl. They will send you a virus through the game.
