To the OP it also helps if you use other sites and read their reviews as well to get an overall sense of a game's strengths and weaknesses. Never rely on just one website for all of your data is a good rule of thumb. Hope it helps ya OP

If you don't play wow, wowtard is just a childish and immature dig to you, not even worthy of a reply, but when you see it constantly day after after day and you feel it's directed at you just because you enjoy something other people don't, eventualy you start fighting back.
It's the same for every game. So screw you hippie!

But it is targeted at you, we all had a meeting, it was the concensus.

You fall in the same mistake when you say bashing wow clones is fine because they are poorly made.

And sorry but EVE is boring. It's a fact. Some people might like it, ok, but even the fans say it's like watching grass grow or paint dry. It can be a zen experience anyway.

So let's stop thinking that our own opinion is "fact" and the way things should be and recognize that there are some great games out.
Now, bashing the WoW clones is fine in my eyes because many of them clone WoW very poorly.  If someone was to take a different IP and have the same level of polish and accessibility as WoW, then I think that game would be a huge success but most of its clones fail to do this.
Another big example is EVE.  A lot of people think that game is boring.  Sure, for some people it is. Ok, it's not for you, that's fine.  But it is a GREAT game for you.  I personally love it (took me several trial accounts over the past two years until I "got" the game) but I know many who don't.  That's fine, but don't attack the game and say it's terrible when it's not.  It's just not for YOU.  You, an individual who is very complex and has many different likes and dislikes.  It's when people start thinking their tastes are fact and that other games suck just because they don't like it that there is a problem. Note that this goes both ways (and a huge issue I have with the EVE community) when EVE players bash other games and call people stupid because they don't like EVE. I'm sure there are some very intelligent people that play WoW (although it does seem to have more kiddies, probably because of accessibility).

I agree with what you said, except that by a slip of pen, you seems to fall prey to the very attitude you are criticising.

So I amended your text for you.

    Good discussion.

Hear hear! All the opinions and reviews aside, in the end only your own opinion matters. If i am interested in a game i try it out myself and make up my own mind.

Currently playing browser games. Waiting for Albion Online, Citadel of Sorcery and Camelot Unchained.

The problem is that many (not ALL) are kids here, with no real understanding of anything, so you will try to have a valid discussion, but it will be broken down, like every other open discussion on the net, mostly by the immature. Actions have little consequence, and that sometimes brings out the worst in people.

Its like having a debate or great discussion at uni or at your workplace, and having these 12-14 year old kids join in. It will rarely result in anything intelligable.

    Good Luck.
