Levels 1 - 20 were a breeze. Lots of fun, leveled quickly, really enjoyed the game.
Now at level 24 it has slowed down. It's down to a crawl. Blizzard got me good. They hooked me in and now the grinding starts. I'm hoping this is just a little bump in the road, but I think this was their plan from the start.
Before, they gave quests which were easy to normal and one or two hard ones. Now, all quests are very hard and you can't solo any of them except one or two.
WoW is boring now. It took me 4 months to be slightly bored with City of Heroes. Blizzard did it in a week. I sure hope this is just a temp thing. I just want to have fun.

I HIGHLY suggest you follow the advice above and find a good guild or at least make some good friends you can group with. Makes ALL the difference in the world. It is a MMO after all...

The WoW grind is practically nothing compared to Lin II or FFXI. I am not saying that it is too easy, but it really is meant to be easier than most mmos.

World of Warcraft does not introduce anything new. It only improves on everything already out there, but does so in a way that makes it FUN to go out and kill enemies in a seemingly endless line of carnage. Personally, I play it because the quests are so interesting, I have little interest in killing 100+ mobs unless there's a good purpose behind it. The quests make me feel like I'm actually DOING something rather than just sending byte x to server y so server y can give me item z.
Also, all MMORPGs are grindfests, there's no way around it. Otherwise, people would quit the game after a month or two because they've all hit the top level. They're designed to be played for a long time and still have content for you to explore, more levels to gain, etc... But in the end what matters is if you have FUN grinding, or it's just senseless and mindless.
WTF? What level/race are you? My Night Elf Rogue is 24 and is currently doing quests in duskwood. I'm actually leveling FASTER now than I was in my late teens.
Cry more...
All MMORPGs are a grind. If you don't want to grind, go play an FPS: a game that actually requires skill and perhaps even *gasp* talent. MMORPGs are entirely too easy to play, therefore there has to be some type of system to keep people playing. This system is giving them abilities for doing more things in the gameworld. Pretty much, the game eats your time, and if you chose to feed it right during the time you're feeding it, it rewards you.
MMORPGs are timesinks by definition.

Can we keep the good tone in here please.....

The developers of WoW never mentioned that you can solo throiugh the whole game as an average player, so find some ppl and have some fun doing tough quests or killing mobs
I've grinded my way through many RPGs, and I sure hope it won't happen to me in WoW.
Grinding is evil
Makes me grind my teeth
And makes me go all sad
But so far I've really enjoyed WoW. And I know that in MMO's the players make all the difference. Do not play an MMO on your own! Its not an MMO for nothing!
Find people to play with! Find yourself a nice guild!
And its not all about getting to level 60 (heck the last 50 levels you don't even get new spells, the way the game is designed atm.)
Its about the fun you can have with others. Sharing the game's experiences.
So, stop grinding, find yourself another area to fight in (delete all your quests from this area. They'll still be available to your later. The NPC will just give them again) and go find some nice people to play with!
Cheers,
Nash

How the heck can you whine about grinding ? you can get lvl 60 in 3days 12 hours ´playtime.. Try that in another game. max lvl in less than 4 days.. not pissible
LOL, thank you for pointing out the pure definition of grinding.
As for other posts, I started doing quests in other zones until I get some of the old quests to green. Thanks for some of the advice.
As for grouping, it's more frustration than fun. Just today, I was killing trolls, gnolls, or whatever have you, and a gnome asked me to join up with her. I said sure.
Next thing I know, I'm fighting everything while this person is looting everything, and she's 3 levels higher than me.
I asked the gnome, "Excuse me, you do understand that you were just looting and not fighting at all."
No answer.
I quit the team.
I've just had some bad experiences grouping in this game. More so than other MMORPG's. Maybe it's just bad luck.
Maybe you should have asked him to change the looting options or quit the group. It's not really rocket science.

You assume there were more than two people in the group. Your assumption is wrong. Why would I have her quit the group if there are only two of us. Secondly, why would I keep fighting mobs and have her stand there and watch? How would changing loot options help me in this instance? I do the work and get half the xp?
You're right, it's not rocket science. Maybe you should read my post a little more carefully.
I'm sorry you misunderstood my post. I could have worded it differently, but the misunderstanding is entirely on your part.
I actually assumed there were precisely two people in the group and my suggestion was that you ask the person who created the group to change the looting options from free-for-all so that you would get your fair share of the loot. The other part of my suggestion was that you leave the group, not her.
Dunno what you mean by a grind considering there is already 2 level 60 players about .This is retail.
And quite a few on 59/58
First guy made it in 7 days game play so that no grind at all.And he made it apparently on the 10th day it went retail with all the issues.
www.maxmeout.com
Also on euro beta someone did it apparently in 6 days play.
Grind in WoW?
You got to be kidding me? Try going from 1 to 40+ with any character in Lineage 2, even Silver Ranger.
Or try maxing a class in Horizons to 100? and than a second class to 100?
And in everyother single mmorpg the grind is tougher than in WoW.
Level grinding in WoW is non-existing.
I CREATED MYSELF!

Hm i hope you are wrong. Bacause i look back in dread on the grind that i experienced in Horizons. and i dont wanna re-live that again.

I don't think you need to worry MM.
As far as I'm concerned, this therad is just another feeble attempt to troll.
