This is all of course subject to change, so don't go crazy if it gets more expensive! I take no responsibility whatsoever when it comes to whether or not these number stay the same or not.
So, I was casually browsing some thread about MO, wanted to check up Star Vault a bit to see how many employees they have, went to their website (www.starvault.se) and found something interesting - a report for the Jan-Mars quarter of the fiscal year or whatever you'd call it in English.
http://www.starvault.se/090506_StarVault_DelarsRapport.pdf
There it is in PDF. It's all in Swedish, so you might not understand anything. But... on page 4 there's a section called "Affärsmodell" (Businessmodel). In that segment this info is found (translated by myself):
"Star Vaults första spel, Mortal Online, ska säljas genom att
läggas ut på ett antal servrar, där kunden skapar ett personligt konto för att hantera betalningar till
Star Vault. Spelanvändarna köper spelet online för cirka 300 SEK och användarna kan börja spela
direkt när spelet har laddats hem, vilket är en effektiv och bekväm lösning för Bolagets kunder.
Därefter betalar användarna en prenumerationsavgift på cirka 110 SEK per månad."

Star Vaults first game, Mortal Online, will be sold through a number of servers, where the customer creates a personal account for handling payments to Star Vault. The users of the game buy the game online for around 300SEK and the user can start playing directly when the game has been downloaded, which is an efficient and comfortable solution for the company's customers. After that the users pay a subscription fee of about 110SEK per month."
Cost of the game itself: 300SEK=~27,5€/38,4$/24£
Subscription fee: 110SEK per month=~10,1€/14,1$/8,8£ per month
These prices will probably go up a bit, as the Swedish Krona will probably get stronger in the future and they'd like to account for that. I also guess the prices will adjust a bit in general to let's say 11,99€/13,99$/8,99£ to fit more in with the market as well as account for the dollar and the pound getting stronger with time.
But still! The pricing is lower than the industry standard, which always is nice!

Good job there, appreciate the info you posted.
I hope there will be chance to pay with SEKs, as I'd have to exchange to , and then pay - which is more expensive than exchanging to SEK and pay with Swedish currency I suppose.
