Il be honest and say I only went back to EVE because I could play via ingame Plexes.
Plexes are ingame time cards you purchase from others, a legal way of selling game time for ingame ISK. CCP were clever and pretty much cut off all illegal isk sellers by adding this function.
I don't do alot, apart from crunch a few market orders and mine a little bit of ore now and then, probly about an hour a day whilst updating my market stuffs. It pays for my subscription tho, and keeps my skills ticking until I can dedicate more time to playing - I guess what I do in someways powers other players. Someone buys my stuff anyways.. and im not too far off the ship i want so i can go low sec with my corp.
So if you are looking for a game to play for free, You should give EVE a try.
You can use the thread above to get an extended 21 day trial, within that time you could easily make the money needed for a plex. Just check out the marketing / mining threads at the eve online forums and your away!! Feel free to pm me if you need any further info

You only play Eve because you play for free using the plexes ? You don't like the game enough to pay the 15$ a month to play if the plexes got removed ?
I'm not attacking you for doing what you are doing, I have paid using plexes but now I pay with credit card because I don't want to grind the isk to buy plexes. I just find it odd to only play because it's free.
I don't really get that from what he wrote. People often use words that, if you focus too much on them, could lead to an interpretation completely different than the intent of the speaker. I'm just not sure that what you're implying is the most reasonable reading.
Hmm ive subscribed to games for many years now, but there are so many free games about I guess i decided that if I could play a game for free.. then I would.
I have paid for EVE before, but as i pretty much make my subscription just by placing a few buy/sell orders now, it seems silly to pay for it. - dont forget someone else somewhere is buying that Plex.. they obviously have more money in real life and need it fast ingame to play with. Thier goals are obviously alot larger then mine.
But I really did go back there because I was told you can pay for game time via ingame currency.
Edit - sorry missed your question. Hope this answers it
No I would not pay for EVE if they removed plexes. I would possibly try a cheeper game, as EVE's subscription is one of the highest fees online. Its what put me off in the first place when I didnt really play that much.

Eves pricing is in line with other AAA titles on the market. I can't say I really understand your thinking behind not paying to play Eve eventhough I do enjoy the game. To me 15$ is worth having fun over playing some other game that isn't as fun but cheaper or free. Oh well your money and your choice. I just had to ask and you answered.
I guess it comes down to one thing, is there another game worth my time ? And right now there isn't, my play time is more valuable than the few dollars a month.

I wasn't implying anything. If you notice the question marks you would know that I was simply asking him a couple of questions and to which he answered.
While I'm glad you like being able to use plexes it's not like this is new. EVE has allowed people to buy Game Time Codes from other players for ISK for years now.
TBH I used to use GTC's I bought with isk to pay for my accounts. But the prices have gotten so stupidly outrageous I just use a CC now. Almost 400mil for a 30 day plex just isn't worth it.

Last time I paid using GTC I paid 350mil for a 90 day code. 300-400+mil for 30 days just seems silly to me.

Maybe I would enjoy the game more if i went low sec, PVPed a little.. but at this current point in my game I havnt gone below 0.5.
Carebear girly, I never bought the 60 day cards before, I was scared of getting ripped off. I like the plexes because they are on the market ingame.

My apologies ma'am
The plexes are great for those that want to use them. I do like how CCP has implemented it cutting the account hacking gold farmers out as much as possible.
Low sec space is pretty safe if you are in a frigate and don't stick around one spot too long, watch your overview and learn to use your directional scanner. With all these things you can navigate low sec with about 99% safety, if you get caught chances are it's something you did wrong. Try joining a faction warfare corp and do some pvp if you think that would be fun. Tech 1 frigates is the cheapest pvp you pvp you will find in the game.
Hm, I wonder if this is why CCP doesn't seem to be very motivated in improving the static PVE stuff like missions/ratting/mining? Because some people will surely 'farm' this ISK using macros or whatever and charge some other guy real $$ for the isk they earned using macros. CCP gets their cut due to the inflated prices now and everyone sorta wins
Other day my friends ganked an AFK ratter that was in the belts. They warped in like 100-200 away from the afker' and slowboated all the way to the guy and killed him.
Other night a guy confesses he uses macros to rat to pay for his accounts
Seem like too me people dont complain about the pve being pretty awful because they just macro it anyway and get some other guy to pay for their game time
Anyway! Yeah good thread. Kinda funny how the OP words her posts. That's pretty cool though. Hey OP thats really cool you manipulate the markets this way. I always said EVE has best Trading for any MMO I've seen. I really enjoy that said of it (sandbox, player driven PVE)
