Well, i missed the last beta (i didnt hear anything about it) but now i know there's going to be a new beta on 19th, my question is: it's an open beta? frow where can i donwload aion for the beta?
Pretty sure it will be another closed beta. I do not know if there will be more key handouts though.
That said many keys allow access to all beta events, mainly those handed out from Aion dedicated fansites such as Aionsource, or from preorders. Note that keys from mmorpg.com only allowed access to last weekend's beta and will not allow you to access the next one.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"
I think the next test is going to be for the other faction , I wouldn't think it would be open yet. I haven't heard yet though , so they could either hand out keys again or use the keys already handed out. I wouldn't think they would do a full open test until both sides are made playable at once , though these tests seem to be more for stress and text errors.

It's going to be a closed beta, meaning you get in if you manage to get a key.
Ok, this is what is going on from Team Gamestopo, you could either go online @ www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx and reserve the game online or if you in the states and have one local, cruise in and put some money down.
Now their beta keys are a bit dodgy, they are being EMAILED to you from gamestop, so I had to call customer service @ 1-800-883-8895 and make sure that they had the correct email. My friendly neighborhood gamestopo was clueless; Ricky from Cust Serv told me that the beta keys would be released between June 8th and June 10th.
This seems very hodge, podge and disorganized to me; Gamestopo is shifting away from PC based games and focusing mostly on console based games. We all know this, that is why they are late to the party with the beta keys for the elyos event, but at least we may get them for the asmo event. Or you could get lucky and get one from a site like this mmoprg.com
I hope this helps the cause, the only reason why I would play asmo is to see what race does better with my class. Alot of ppl from CB1 said they were rolling asmo at retail, unless there is some racial benefits for being elyos, why would anyone roll elyos?

Late? Nope, they have emailed the keys on Thursday (4th) and Friday.
But if you were late with your preorder, who can blame them.
As for "hodge podge disorganized", AFAIK Gamestop is the only retailer actually sending the keys out, so compared to the others I would say they are performing quite well.

Yes it will be for Asmodians but from what I have been hearing from people they will be cap the lvls at 10. Also from what I have heard the next closed beta weekend event is on the following weekend after this weekend. This is of course from what I have heard from people and should not be taken as actual fact. If this is wrong please correct me.
i had to ask the guy for it tho cause he was pretty clueless and had to hunt around for the beta key dvd package thingy
I just order online and use overnight shipping... work at home and really don't want to drive to the next town to pick up software that will most likely come during rush hour anyway.
Oh this relates because.. the reason I started ordering online... If its not CONSOLE my local gamestop doesn't know what it is...

Maybe by you, but the cats near me are clueless in seattle.
Proof:
1) When I reserved my game they should of known and informed me that their was going to be a beta key emailed to me.
2) They didn't ask for my email.
3) They didn't even know about the past beta and future beta event.
4) They didn't know about Aion until it was written up in recent game informer, I had to sit there and explain it to the STORE MANAGER.
5) The store manager admitted to me that they have a paltry pc section and just focuses on consoles. QFT.
6) The one closest to my house doesn't even CARRY pc games at all.
And, congrats to you successfully trolled me, that's cool with me. I felt like ragging about gamestop anyway.

It sounds like your problem is with the individual STORE, not Gamestop the company. The managers decide what to order based on their knowledge/lack of. Besides, most PC games they know you can get online. Why hold it in stock if people will go online, anyway? Wait till online ordering on consoles takes off. Gamestop will only have used games, then.

Personally I was late on the pre-order (Thursday 6/4/'09 about 1pm EST), and got my key on Friday (6/5/'09 about 6pm EST). Friend of mine pre-ordered on Wednesday (at about 1pm EST) and got his key Thursday (at about 6pm EST). We both ordered online.

I also think this sounds like just your local store... I mean personally here in Vegas, I went i think June 3rd to preorder aion and they gave me this nifty little Aion case with a little plastic card inside with my serial code that gave me access to the june 5th-7th beta as well as all other beta events. And the people were more then well aware of aion... i stopped to chat about it actually for a couple minutes lol... so again.. its not ALL gamestops, just seems you must've ran into some badluck.
p.s. i totally agree that their pc section is lackluster... "the proof is in the pudding" lol you go into a game stop and you ask wheres the pc section and they point you into a dark far away corner filled with cobwebs and other dark things... lol
I'm European, in my country (spain) there are gamestop, i'll check it out
Could I pre-order the game, play the beta and if i dont like it, cancel the preorder and get back my money? You said that the send the keys between 6 and 9, thats means i have to preorder it before?
No, it's not. I spoke with customer service again and some sweet girl told me that there is only 2 people handling the beta key distribution. Just...2....people....
Imagine the barrage of emails and orders that they are getting. Day of beta there was over 1,000 people on the beta boards and over 1,000 on mmorpg.com the night they released the beta keys.
C'mon, I'm not dogging gstop, they are doing their best. Look, I went to 2 local stores and I called 2 stores in the ny area and one being MIDTOWN MANHATTAN. Now I live only 15 mins out of nyc and if it's not there, it's nowhere, anyone from NY will tell you. Ands none of them knew anything, maybe it's a new yawk thing. But they were helpful enough to get me to call customer service.
I want to thank everyone for their help, my key is on the way and if I don't get into asmo beta, oh well. I'm buying the game no matter what in september. It's not like I'm never going to play aion, perosnally I'm more concerned right now on getting into the champions online beta.

Online key emailing distribution system is automated, so it's nice to just do that, screw the lame stores.
I preordered from gamestop, got my key a day before the elyos beta and it should last me through all other betas. I've read that there were a couple places hading out about 100 keys from the alyos beta beforehand and then of course mmorpg handed out 5k for the NA beta. I'm sure if you look enough and get to them early youll get a key, or preorder from gamestop and get that key.. could always cancel your order afterwards but why would you? heh this game is amazing in my opinion, I love everything about it.

And, congrats to you successfully trolled me, that's cool with me. I felt like ragging about gamestop anyway.
Any questions, comments?
Play safe,

You said that the send the keys between 6 and 9, thats means i have to preorder it before?
bump
Anyone hear anything on that?
Online key emailing distribution system is automated, so it's nice to just do that, screw the lame stores.
I preordered from gamestop, got my key a day before the elyos beta and it should last me through all other betas. I've read that there were a couple places hading out about 100 keys from the alyos beta beforehand and then of course mmorpg handed out 5k for the NA beta. I'm sure if you look enough and get to them early youll get a key, or preorder from gamestop and get that key.. could always cancel your order afterwards but why would you? heh this game is amazing in my opinion, I love everything about it.
