He was teh first to 60, the first with a full set of radience gear, the first to finish all his books andoyu know what? First grats that you are such a skilled healer. Clap Clap Clap. Shows how much more gear means compared to AoC. /rolleyes
That someone so clueless as your described ""leet" innie" actually manages to be first at 60, be first to collect full top gear, first to finish all books and so on shows how much "skill" one needs in LOTRO and was a good reminder why i will never log into this cookie cutter middle earth again.

And I think you mean your idea of fun as I also pointed out you are in the minority. I don't see Turbine pulling a NGE anytime in the near future as long as their player base is as strong as it is.
havent read what "his" idea of fun is, but how can he be in the minority? does the majority of human beings find lotro fun? Ok thats not fair does the majority of human beings with a PC + internet find lotro fun? Ah hang on - does the majority of human beings with a PC + internet + a faible for MMO's find lotro fun? NO!
As hard as it might be to believe, but finding lotro fun actually puts YOU in the minority.

To me, I think LOTRO was a above averaged quality game, although the Follow mode was poor but I played 2 accounts at that time. I have had lot of fun from this game until Lorthien.

I can not accet tthe big nerf,  because that was all I earned since I started to play LOTRO, to me, I think Turbine could created more stronger mobs rather than to nerf on player side. Obviously, Turbine ignored player's virtual assets and  not even respect the players once.

At the first day of the nerf, I quit my both accounts even though the subscription was not expired. I didn't want to buy permanent subscription because I don't trust this game because I don't think the game will entertained me for very long time.

I am playing Warhammer now, even though it is poor quality but I will not go back to LOTRO.

I have to agree not much about the new bk impressed me personally but I think it is good for those who like raids and such,  I certainly don't expect every book to be focused on my particular likes and dislikes and can live with this one not doing so since every other book included a variety of things for me.  The biggest problem I have with this post is the fact that you eluded to one problem I have with all mmo players in general, why do we break our necks to rush through anything new added into the game and then complain about how short repititous it is etc..  I personally had many things going on before and during the release of Moria and then later Lothlorien and I didn't touch either of them for atleast a few weeks but most players are quick to drop what they are doing burn through the new content in 2 weeks or so then complain about it.  My question then becomeswere you at a point where you thought you might quit just before the release of new content?  And if not why the need to quit when you bore yourself on the new content? If you've played for months on the things that already existed in game why now that a small part has been released would you feel the need to quit the game when everything else that you played through up until that point is still there?

Regardless whatever you are up to now I hope you enjoy and I hope that future books and expansions can meet your satisfaction.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

    Um, they are not.

Because a book has some raid changes, all the sudden the whole game is about raiding? You guys have to be kidding me. Turbine always has done a good job of adding new content, new features and yes sometimes a raid.

    Big deal.

Whats funny is, the gift box changes were asked for because people did not enjoy the high risk high reward system it previously used.

It's Ok if the change is not for you, but to say this is the "new direction" is just plain old fashioned drama. Pure drama. Especially when you are ignoring the crafting revamp, the continuation of the storyline, and the upcoming skirmish system, the bree-land revamp (in this book).

Mr Bloodworth so often speaks from a base of common sense, how does the addition of 4 or even 6 raids make the game all about that? I actually think it only natural and a good thing for them to attempt to pull in players for what seems to be the hot thing in mmos which is raiding, it is something I don't indulge in matter of fact I haven't done a single raid in the game and certainly haven't felt like I now have nothing to do.

It is purely the "keep up with the joneses" that most people get I even read a post on here where I guy claimed to have breezed through all of the new content since lothlorien in three days and I have to say honestly that if you do that nothing will truly satisfy you or you are the luckiest person in the world (might want to try the powerball) it's like buying an album and listening to your favorite song on the album for 3 days straight what do you think will happen if you do that? Chances are good that song will lose it's luster for you.

I still have to ask the detractors who played the game up until the expansion did you in fact not like the game and only hung around in the hopes that they would add an entire years worth of content? If that's the case you only fooled yourself.  I've already stated for my taste raids don't do it and I pretty much decided once I saw a bunch of raids were the feature this book wasn't for me but after having played for over a year I cant see anything wrong with the content that already existed which I have been more than happy with even without a strong affinity to Moria.

Instead of running down there and getting one cow you guys should maybe try walking down and getting them all if you get my meaning and if you don't there is no wonder why you burn through additions in days and all of a sudden judge a great porduct overall on a tiny part that was added later.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

They' re really only adding one raid though.  I know the dev refers to all three as being raids but the other two dungeons, unless I'm misreading something, are for three man groups.  Meanwhile, since they used the term raids for all of them there are people running around saying Rings wants to turn this into a raiding game! Or, Rings is adding three raids!!??!!   Wtf, who has time to form 12 man groups all the time if that's all Turbine is going to add to the game!

Seems like this Book is a rather good addition to me but I suppose that's all a matter of opinion.  The trailer for the Book is rather lame though.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

Heh yea thats crazy! I cant even imagine how many hours / day he must be playing. How can you even get all the deeds/class traits/ legendary traits in such short time? Must be plenty your character is missing.

But I agree that MoM is missing a large raid. Thankfully we will get one this month...

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

I do agree with the OP. The Legendary Item system is ridiculous, legacies for most classes are in 80% crap, 15% a must, and 5% optional. The system goes against the theme as well, deconstrucing hundreds of LI to get tiers that you slot into your main LI is against LOGIC, REALISM, PLAYABILITY. The designer should get whipped and never get another job in this industry anymore.

Additionally the use of LI made weapon crafting absolutely useless, everyone's just using LI. This doesn't bother as much tho, as they made every crafting vocation useless. Two hours in a dungeon and you get better items than spending 30 hours to level up your crafting.

You have not tried making and or selling any tier 2, 3, and 4 weapons, tier 2,3,4, or 5 armor or jewelry have you. Crafters and gatherers are still getting premium prices. I resorted to spending more hours than I want to admit farming ruby shards to outfit my latest alt rather than pay auction house prices.anyway in the recent dev transcript:
    http://www.warcry.com/forums/read/118.117131
the issue of LI legendaries was discussed. Some changes to crafting are coming in book 8 , more will follow.
Raskolnikov: "Question: I know you guys spent a lot of time working on the LI system, but I can't help but feel frustrated with it a times. Are there any plans on redesigning it?"

Raskolnikov: Completely redesigning it, no. It took a lot of work to get the various systems in place to creat the LI system. However...

Raskolnikov: We're definitely monitoring the complaints and seeing where we fell short with our goals. So in that regard, we're going to be making some solid changes.

Graal: One of the cool features we are working on for "the Future" is the ability to exchange legacies on Legendary Items. Exactly how this ability is going to be awarded is still up in the air.

Graal: There will be a method to reset the legacy points on a maxed out Legendary Item very soon.

Raskolnikov: I can speak to the LI weapons: Yes! We definitely want to bring crafters into the LI system more than we have. I'm going to be a jerk and not give any details.

Raskolnikov: But this is a very large complaint we've heard and we fully intend to remedy it.

Raskolnikov: Whether we allow you to make better LIs or components to LIs or who-knows-what. But yes, crafting LI stuff is good.

one thing about Turbine they might not be perfect but they listen to the players and seem to fix things in a reasonaable amout of time unlike certain companies who have been tripping over their own feet for years over the same old release issues.

Why people keep using this stupid line over and over against any kind of criticism.

We like LOTRO and we care about the game, we want it to like even more, but there are certain things that bother us. Legendary items & lottery and the radiance are the biggest concerns.

I am not a huge fan of Moria either, I finallt capped my minstrel at 60 yeserday, he does not don't own a single piece of radience gear and he does not have a LI item. But  on the other hand I enjoy my kinship, I enjoy the graphics, I enjoy toodling around middle earth. I enjoy the updates and am looking forward to playing in Rohan, Mirkwood, the Long Lake, Helms Deep, and the rest of Middle Earth.  I could nitpick the game but for me it is overall  the best game and best community out there right now. Will I play forever, nope just till something better comes along and so far it hasn't.

Same for me, the game plays well and looks great on my average PC!  Except I did get 2nd age weapons from a drop from ordinary Orcs. Twice! :D

I'm still new and enjoy the game for the most part, though a lot of the quests are dull. Still it's fun and I will level up as far as I like the game. If endgame is bad then I will quit playing but I wouldn't think of the game as a waste of time.

If it was fun leveling to the end then it was worth it to me. I don't consider that a failure. Still I don't really know what people are talking about but you may as well grind rep or Lp or w/e at max levels because it's not like you can progress in any other way.

Reading through this thread got me thinking about returning.  I am going to sub for a month and see how it goes.  I just got two months into Eve Online and just not suits my style of play.

LOTRO always brings me back happy memories.  I have hopped from WoW to Eve and now back to LOTRO lol  Should have just stuck with it :)
