SaigonshakesSaigonshakes Member Posts: 937

Well I've picked out all my parts for a final build. What level will EQ2 run at with this setup?

Abit AG8 socket 775 mobo

Intel P4 2.8 Ghz 775 cpu

Gigabyte GeForce 6600GT 128mb video card

1gb of corsair DDR 3200 ram

Thanks for the help!

high quality, right under maximum. but, you can tweak it and remove any extra features that you dont want, to give you smoother frames.

Cool, thanks for the help Jay. It took me awhile to decide what to buy, but I ended up getting some killer deals I couldn't refuse.

With that.. I would say you could max most everything important.. I have found shadows are not missed atm, but kill preformance..

You might want to get a 6800 Ultra or GT instead, much better card for only a few hundred more (if even that)

Heres a good place to see how cards stack up, sorry if this has been posted numerous times

except that the 6600GT he is getting is PCI-Express and the 6800GT is not, the PCI-E versions they just dropped on the market are like $200 more than the AGP ones. the 660GT is about $400 cheaper and they arent that much slower the the 6800's (with it being PCI-E it may even be faster)

Yeah, shadows take a huge hit on the frames per second for such a small effect. Just disable them to get a few more frames out of your system. Believe me, you won't miss them. Besides for that your system should do pretty well. I doubt that it would be smooth under maximum but besides for that you should be fine.
