Can good and evil work together?

TheTemplarTheTemplar Member UncommonPosts: 37

Hi!
I'm asking all you high-levlers out there or perhaps people with experience from the beta. At later levels, are there areas that are common for both good and evil players?

Yes they can group and work together. Which is just really retarded gaming by EQ2. Great lore great game no roleplay.  Craving for PVP servers!!!! image It's like an Israeli grouping up with a Palestinian. It just doesn't work. Yet it does in EQ2.

    I dont think it's retarded.

During the Cold War with Russia, you know how many U.S./U.S.S.R working together groups that were funded by either country? A lot. Anywhere from Space exploration, Education Exhange programs, to Firefighter training programs were done as a joint U.S./U.S.S.R during the 70's and 80's. Meanwhile, both countries still had 110 tons of nuclear warheads aimed at each other cities.

Same thing with EQ2....DEVs mentioned it like a Cold War..for now. An uneasy peace. Just like a Russian Soldier could not walk into a U.S. military base, a Freeport ShadowKnight just cant waltze into North Qeynos.

I agree, about good and evil can group, also from a roleplay point of view, good would accept evil if they appeared to be reformed, while evil would work with good to achieve their own selfish goals, or both working for a common good like survival. So no it isn't crazy, also good and evil is more of a moral outlook than a politcal view.

I wouldnt say its like an Israeli grouping with a Palestinian...its more like U.S and U.S.S.R in the cold war.

Israeli and Palestinians are fighting each other over land and the right to form a recognized state. In EQ2 you have nothing of the sort. You have two Cities living in a very uneasy peace seperated by two continents with their own diplomats and spies and sabatoeurs. Very reminiscient of the Cold War.

If Qeynos and Freeport were side by side and each other protesting their right to the other's city zones, then it would be more like the Israeli and Palestinian crises ::::28::

While the game has no PvP I'd say it's more like Britain and Germany in World War 2 except nobody in either country has arms or legs.

They want to fight, but there's no way in hell they're gonna!

Haha that's hilarious. But anyways you have a valid point En1gma about it being more like the Coldwar. However, the Coldwar wasn't really a "war" as in we were fighting each other, people fighting each other in war, military sent over, etc. It was just an unstable time. But have you read the lore? Specifically the "tome of destiny." It states orcs attacking froglocks, orcs attacking barbarian lands halas. This is total war when another group invades and takes over anothers land. So in the midst of all this happening, do you see a barbarian saying, "Hey orc. Wanna join forces to fight those gnolls?" Or a valiant Knight sworn to Qeynos group with the orc that just tried to attack them?

Well, Orcs are on neither side of Good and Evil...they'll kill anyone. Ogres are the ones aligned with Freeport. It's a Cold War right now (or tension) between the two kingdoms, but guards and citizens from either side of the kingdom drops some pretty strong hints about an "upcomming war" I think this is when PvP will be added in.

Also, have you looked at your cursor lately? If you place your cursor over another player it gives you the same color code as a mob as to its level to you (grey, green, blue, white, yellow, orange, and red)....when u logon next...try it out.

There's a war coming for sure (don't know when but I think it's coming faster than any of us think. Also....the days of good and evil hunting together will soon be a sign of the past)

Not only group and work together, but can guild together.  Only thing you are missing is the ability to get the merchant rewards for an opposing city-based guild.
