Tsk, tsk. China and their bots/goldfarmers are everywhere. You CAN'T kill them ><.
There have been many claims made by NCSoft that the patch 1.1 fixes a lot of the exploits found on the Chinese server that everyone is complaining about.
If only that guy who "canceled his preorder" had bothered to read a few other threads too he'd have known that by the time anyone in NA sees this game on a NA server there will be a very different experience.
One that none of us can claim we know the details of, we can only speculate.
Hopefully NCSoft is correct in their statements that they've found a way to stop the cheating.
There are patch notes for version 1.2 floating around somewhere. Asians are either already enjoying 1.3 or looking forward to it.
You don't even need to make threads llike this OP........ Aion is already big in Asia, and will be even more massive in US/EU..... i play on chinese server as well, it's much better than any MMO on market
Just wait till release, all haters will eat their words
Sure they did. I've seen several threads where people have stated the "real" game of Aion starts at 25, but until the OP here I really didn't understand why.
Oh sure, I could have done some research, but I'm lazy, and can't be bothered to.
I appreciate the OP's efforts and enjoyed the read.
Hopefully they'll get the bot issue and other hacking issues under control, however we are talking NCSoft and their record for Lineage 2 wasn't terribly great, esp when it came to bot elimination.
But I'll wait and see how the NA release goes, and judge for myself.

I can recall seeing a lot of goldsellers on GW. I know that NCsoft took care of them. Compared to Blizzard, NCsoft does great things and stay close to their customers.
It wasn't NC Soft. It was Anet themselves more. NC Soft relies on stuff like Game Guard. Guild Wars is the only one that doesn't. It was the devs in-game culling the rampant bots, and players reporting, that cut them down. That, and Anet nerfed a lot of things that were inducive to gold farmers, just by making it easier for the players themselves to farm and earn the rewards.
Go into Lineage 2, even now, and tell me the great job NC Soft does with bots. NC Soft just distributes GW. Anet handles all the technical aspects of the game.
who really cares about bots. They don't really do anything. They might influence the economy but you would never know. In all the MMOs I've played I never noticed a difference in anything *shrug*
I'm not saying I like them, but some people buy gold from them and that's it. Not a lot of people do and they don't do it often. All the bots hardly make any difference.

your list of games played doesn't include Lineage2, which might be why you underestimate what a real problem bots can be. I don't think they'll be as bad in Aion, simply because the game is less condusive to it, but they can still be a big problem if NCsoft drops the ball on this one.

What does GW stand for?

If asians are looking forward to it, it must be a good patch
Guild Wars.

I think waiting till release would be the best thing to see how NCsoft will solve the botting problem
