Interesting read. Will have to see what it really is like but think it was very interesting seeing the answers. Was that translation or just how Jun Tan used English?

It's a little bit of both.

This Game has a ton of content, but the translations are rough. You can also Pick up  1 of 25 Alpha Keys on GameGravity.com if your intrested.

Anyone know how long the Alpha will run for?  I want to try and get in, but with only 50 spots I hope I can.

Damn these days why do games have lost the innovative edge they had during 1990-2000 and also til 2004.... We were exited that a game would b released.. but attitude is like:"Ah.. just an another game like just an another movie in the theatre".. ...

The geeks were cooler before.. now 80%of the geeks are like morons who just are as bad anyone else at fun!

Well because its not fun any more. Imagine if you would be forced to watch the same movie every week just with a different cast of actors. Would you be happy after watching this movie for 5-10 times already?

All these Asian games, they are like the same movie, all that changes is (if lucky) graphics. In a lot of games even graphics don't change. They share graphics engine between each other I guess, those Chinese developers.

Some games are simply not worth to see a day light, so bad and unfinished they are. I think until either of these three games released (JumpGate Evolution, Black Prophecy or Star Wars:The Old Republic) its good to stick to something specific, like LOTRO, that is a well balanced, fun MMORPG. But then again there are so many Chinese people that stamping those Item Mall F3P games is probably still profitable in Korea and other Asian countries. I am just surprised that they find so much support on the western market.

Yay to recession and maxing credit cards on Item Mall. Just so you can own those who doesn't have money. People grow up and their brain still works the same way...

Surely i agree dude... but asian developers have SO MANY stories to tell... they just WONT tel it the right way..

Asia like any other place has many myths and one can capitalise on it.. and abt the question of why do Westren market support hers my take.. :P

Would u choose a charecter who slays Dragon and is called in chines language some mysterious name ..... or..... would u boast that ur game charecter name is James or some other common name ...

All myths from china have the same dragon background so u cant blame gamedevelopers... but u CAN blame them for not making the STORY aspect... Starwars has a better approach tho.. and I agree that the business men are lam in funding cos they NEVER play their own games any way..

lastly westren market has NO other better alternatives than these MMOs... can u find any that has mass appeal (in this categor.. lol except starwars ..hehe)... :P

To be honest I actually love Asian mythology. What I don't like is the way they "tell the story". One would think that with such a wide variety of stories to tell they would have at least a talent to deliver it properly, so that game was fun to play. Atlantica Online is the only Asian MMO that was able to create something unique and fresh and capture some attention due to mercenary system and the tactical combat.

The rest of these games from Asian market that are being literally released on a monthly basis is just a clone of "story about the dragon slayer". I don't think they care to deliver the story I think they care about milking the money on the western market. Amount of money that some people spend on the markets is ridiculous but its enough to keep these Asian devs going. I bet you they are all after our money here, not to tell us a great myth about a dragon slayers. At least all the Asian MMOs I've tried are NOT about telling the story. Unless you call this a story:

Oh, Huo Chang, you're a great warrior, we need you to kill us 100 wolves.
Oh, Huo Chang, you're a great slayer, we need you to slay us 100 ninjas.
    Oh, Huo Chang
    Oh, Huo Chang
    Oh, Huo Chang

If this is what makes a real story these days in Asian MMO games then I feel very sorry for their culture.

None of their released games were able to tell us any great story yet. Mostly its a story about the Item Mall that needs more American dollars.
