Any info on wipe plans?
Should I bother getting my characters look and name as I want it in Live or are they going to be deleted anyway? If they are going to be wiped, are the characters deleted or simply reduced to level 1 (allowing you to keep your name and look)? I though pre-order people were suppose to get early access to character creation and name reservation... No?

this has been said 100000000000000000x before but yes they will be gone, between Closed beta and open they go poof, and between open and live they go away... The people who preorder get a 2 day head start over the others. Aionsource or Aionblah are good sources of this info so you don't have to ask questions over and over.
You do get early access, but it will not be the character you created in beta. You will have to pick your new server whatever race you want, etc... one the retail servers go live.

Yes, open beta.. The talked about open beta before there will be an open beta.
Let just put it this way... if it's a beta(Close or Open), you toons will get wiped.

There seems to be some confusion on this issue. There is not going to be any Open Beta. That was set in stone a year ago. If you pre-order, you get into preview events. Then the game goes Live. There is and will be no Open Beta.

This is what I have understood for over a year ago as well. NA/EU will not have any open beta's. All the events are preview closed beta for pre-orders and special limited keys like the MMORPG ones. Aion is set to release (unofficially on September first 2009) Early access grants a small headstart...not sure how many days we get. I would prefer an entire week myself. So lets just say hypohetically end of August early game release. Ofcourse NCsoft has the potential to push the game back, However I would think this is a very bad idea to do.
