Does the point and click take away from this game?

Was just wondering - to people who have played - if the point and click takes anything away from this game?

In my personal experience, any game with point and click meant limited mobility in PvP situations and took away from the "open world" feel from the game.

My build: Sapphire Radeon HD 4850, Asus P5GC-MX/1333 Motherboard, 4gb G.SKILL DDR2 667MHz RAM, Core 2 Duo e7200 CPU, 250gb Western Digital SATA Harddrive, Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit.

Having played in the beta event just past, you are not stuck with the point and click.

Point and click is an option but you can also use the keyboard like other MMO's

sounds like it's optional.  It's a very outdated concept though.  Why would they even bother coding it?

A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.

i hate it also, thats why in the options, you just uncheck the box that says" click to move" and use WASD

I forgot the game even implemented point and click. Currently, I'm playing on the chinese servers and there is an option to turn it off. I'm sure it would limit mobility, but it really is just an excess feature.

Yes, unlike other games, it seems that Aion favours WASD as the primary mobility method with point-n-click as a secondary method.

I never used it.   Tab targets and WASD movement works well.

There are 3 ways to control your avatar.

You can chose between WASD keyboard movement, holding right mouse + left mouse buttons movement, and point and click.

For lazy people, I use WASD but when I'm lazy I just click somewhere and afk for a bit, when I come back I'm already half way to my destination :P it's quite useful really.
